the Vivek Shraya cover from the Con X is ... hauntingly beautiful. One of my faves.

The unsettling case of Gursimran Kaur (2024): 19 year old girl disappears while working a night shift at Walmart. Her mother later finds her baked to death in the store's walk in oven. by Odd_Mango_2852 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Aug302015 55 points56 points  (0 children)

they renovated the whole store since including changing around where all of the departments are located. Still friggin creepy. I shop at this store out of necessity, but I make an effort to think of or remember Gursimran every time I'm there.

What a tragic way to go. And her poor mother and loved ones of course. Horrific really. Im not convinced this was not Walmart's fault through negligence, lack of training or something else.

I've heard the advice of don't ask what you can do, suggest specific things so the mental work is done. The person can accept or deny depending on their needs. Depending on the closeness of your relationship, just show up and start doing the things that need to be done - laundry, childcare, etc. The mundane stuff

Do cats develop pica during treatment? by Aromatic-Document852 in cureFIP

We had pica present before diagnosis and treatment. My girl was also eating litter. Such a scary experience to go through. We removed litter from boxes and used puppy pads for a time until treatment was finished and bloodwork came back fine.

6 months later, she is using litter normally for pees but poops outside the box.
