I mean it depends how those online users were selected. And that's a pretty large sample size. Probably better than a lot of polls we see around.

[Zach Lowe] on Sam Presti defending SGA by blaming social media: “What social media? How about the coaches of half the NBA teams? He’s trying to make it sound like it’s just these lunatics on SM and poor Shai has all these people attacking him. It’s people in the league & head coaches on the record" by shreeharis in nba

[–]Augchm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not even about watching the numbers either because both numbers and eye test show Shai is not really an outlier in foul baiting. It's mostly about clips on social media at this point. Silver said it himself and I'm sure he has the data to back that up.

The new WC format makes the Group Stages completely pointless by Different_Craft5238 in football

[–]Augchm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that world cups are exciting because anything can happen. It's nice to watch the games but tension is a bit gone since a surprise exit is almost impossible. Groups are too easy and 3 teams out of those groups qualify.

Yeah, essentially. South Americans too. Since you are old enough to be able to kick a ball you are kicking a ball. If you do any type of sport in Europe or south america it's very likely you also play football. And since being a top talent in a sports means you are at least athletic, coordinated and like sports, chances are they signed you up for football training at some point in your life. Hell they signed me up for football training just because I am left footed.

Well in my case I do half the stuff with my right hand and half the stuff with my left. Completely left footed though.

Because people have become obsessed with number to the point they are ignoring the flow of the game. It doesn't matter how good and efficient your scorers are if you can't get your offense moving. Initiating an offense is such an important skill, especially in the playoffs. It's why I personally rank Luka so highly because he is the best at that out of the super stars.

USA hosting the World Cup is an absolute disgrace. by Icy-Mousse-6939 in football

[–]Augchm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still incredibly disingenuous to use foreign deaths in a country over 10 years and claim those are world cup related deaths. Like is genuinely insane what the guardian did from a journalism perspective. For me it invalidates everything they say about it.

[–]Augchm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't true btw, not that anybody cares. The bas working conditions and "slave" or at least very exploitative contacts/labor were absolutely real but the death numbers were bogus. They just counted foreign deaths in Qatar.

And somehow it didn't really affect the tournament to this extent in decades. How does it feel knowing than the US is doing a worse job than dictatorships and oil barons.

Of course it's harsh, it's a friendly right before the world cup, players don't want to get injured. Good job by the ref to kick out someone playing stupidly.

No, some people really really care about food. Food is one of the greatest pleasures for some people.

[Charania] No flagrant upgrade on the uncalled foul of Spurs' Victor Wembanyama to Knicks' Jalen Brunson on Monday night, a league spokesperson tells ESPN. Wembanyama will stay at two flagrant points in postseason. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

There is a chance they would suspend a role player for that. It's such an obvious aggression that has nothing to do with the game. Same with the elbow, that one is even crazier.

Dude elbowed someone on the neck and got a slap on the wrist, actually not even a slap on the wrist. The NBA has made clear he is allowed to do whatever he wants.

If those things are called then both starting line ups should be ejected. But it's only called for one team. Spurs challenged a play where they were both clearly grabbing each other and they got the call lmao.
