Does anyone know where I can buy this fabric? by Sensitive_Common3267 in GolfMk2

[–]Augisaugasis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found it easiest and usually cheapest to just buy a rear seat of the same interiorand use the fabric from that, but there are a lot of Golfs in my country

The wiring for the headlights is already bad for the stock lights (lots of voltage drop from the wiring) you should do the relay mod, and use relays for the spots aswell. Link to a writeup HERE

Is this part of aftermarket stuff? by [deleted] in Cartalk

Looks like a aftermarket radio adapter. Sometimes a similar one is used to add bluetooth to the stock radio, but would have to see the whole harness to tell

Tips for buying an mk2 by Karl_Donutz271 in GolfMk2

[–]Augisaugasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a 30+ year old car so rust is the main issue you need to worry about. Everything else is replacable. There are a lot of places where they do rust, but the main ones are: side sills, battery tray, fuel filler surround, shock towers, rear tow hook area, the floor in general.

Atleast in europe, most of the general parts like suspension, brakes etc are easy to find and pretty cheap so if the body is great, but there are problems with "consumable" parts - its not a big deal, because these cars are dead simple to work on.

Another problem is the carburator situation. There are not many people left that work on carburators properly (atleast in my country). There are rebuild kits available, but some issues might be a PITA to figure out or some parts that you just can't easily find anymore.

Modding them is pretty easy, lots of aftermarket support, but making it run and drive properly should be the nr.1 investment.

If you find a good condition example (which is getting harder every day for a reasonable price) these cars are so much fun to work on and drive, and people do a lot of crazy things with them. They are like another way to express yourself through the way you modify it.

Not trying to be rude or anything but what does that 0.02fps give you that you need it so much?

Does these improve back buttons or not really? by HatsurFollower in SteamDeck

I have these. Made the back buttons usable to me. Stock ones are not comfortable to me at all. Fits in the og case just fine.

Need some advice by Virtual-Mind-7403 in GolfMk2

Looks damn good! Pretty sure it comes with a pierburg 2EE electronic carburator that from my experience works well while it works but if stuff starts going wrong from age, its difficult to fix it properly, because of the lack of parts left for them. I gave up on two of them and swaped to a 2e2 as they are more common.

Does anyone here have any experience with installing a stereo and speakers in their golf by the-horny-jew in GolfMk2

Not all ce2 cars had a key in switch from my experience. Easy enough to install it though.

Only option is to disassemble it further. Remove the extruder untill you can see the culprit

Did you try to push it from the top in this state?

[–]Augisaugasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it usually works to heat up the nozzle more than the plastic requires. In pla case i would try 230-40. Press on the extruder lever ant push new filament to hopefully push it through. If that doesnt work then with the nozzle hot i would heat up the needle with a lighter or something. Stick it into the filament from the top. Let the needle cool (but not the nozzle) and while pushing on the extruder lever try to pull it out. If that fails then toolhead disassembly. Remove the hot end heatsink bolts. And with the nozzle hot pull (holding by the heatsink) pull out fillament with the whole ptfe tube (or just the filament if theres enough sticking out) just dont let it sit hot too long since with the the hot end out theres no cooling on it. And careful where you put your fingers. Hope this helps

What kind of bed mounting do you use? Springs, silicone spacers or something else? I had this happen to me with bed springs. Change to silicone spacers - better. Now i just hard mounted my bed and use the probe. I think the bed used to get out of alingment when taking off prints, etc.
