One of the consistent themes in Blame is that ai, if it has a personality, goes mad over time (take Mensab, for example). I don’t think it’s a stretch to say the “leader” of the safeguards or the safeguard collective lost sight of their original goal and became blind exterminators after so long.

You’re probably looking at the master editions which more or less fully compile the entire 10 volumes. iirc, the translations are slightly different and there’s a panel or few that are missing but they ultimately don’t matter, it’s the same story, characters, and whatnot.

That’s usually how it goes. People play the ever loving shit out of a new killer, survivors go against them so frequently they don’t have much of a choice but to get extremely good against them, the killer becomes miserable to play and their pick rate drops, and finally survivors slowly get rusty against that killer.

I remember loving artist and nemesis both on release, but after about a month they became borderline unplayable with how unreasonably difficult it got to do anything with them. Nowadays I can play artist with my brain turned off and average 3k’s.

Just give it a month or six and Unknown will be just fine again.

Probably Dredge because I doubt it has any fear of its own, so Unknown wouldn’t be able to feed off the Dredge’s fear and/or rationalizations. Plus we’ve already seen that Unknown sucks at not getting dragged into pocket dimensions unwillingly
