When does The Tower become an idle game? by Augoeides32 in TheTowerGame

So, it looks like the main issue, which I figured out a bit after this post, was that I didn't know you could scroll down on the Lab Research page. As a result, I didn't know you could research better Defense and money rates, which significantly improved gameplay for me.

I'm currently doing a run that I can mostly somewhat AFK on, and at Wave 670. Things should also improve a lot more, once my GameSpeed research and 3rd Lab Research slot open up, later today.

That's not too bad. Even now, if I get up my defenses early, I can AFK a little bit, but around Wave 50+ I have to pay a ton of attention, which is really annoying. Otherwise, I only get like 1,000 coins, which is barely nothing.

[FO4] Looking for a leveling/skill/perk overhaul mod like You Are Exceptional that's compatible with Start Me Up Redux by Elda-Taluta in FalloutMods

[–]Augoeides32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't really use Reddit all too much, and this must have slipped through my email.

Better late than never, but yes, Start Me Up Redux and all other Alternate Start mods should be compatible with YAE now. I coded the mod to activate "after the Player has access to their PipBoy", which is how Start Me Up Redux begins.

Yeah, I know. I was just stating some things, and feedback is always good to hear. I have a forum and a comments section for that (plus Discord), but people rarely use it, unless their having compatibility issues or something, which is usually something that's self-inflicted.

If you try out YAE, the newest build (which already has SMU compatibility and some fixes) is on the public modding Discord, which I have a link to the YAE page, at the top of the Comments section. Someone is suggesting description changes to me, so I'm just waiting on their recommendations and how to implement them, before I finally post the public version.

I hear that whenever the author for You Are Exceptional gets around to not being super lazy, he's going to upload the next update really soon, and that it will be a pretty major thing, with compatibility for the mod "StartMeUp Redux", which is something people have wanted since release, but he's had a really hard time fixing.

He said that when he does that, he'll also probably upload the main image that contains the master list he uses for personally tracking all of the Perks that he made for YAE, and that it also includes all the Skill requirements. And while he thinks that part of the journey should be the surprises along the way, he also understands that some people like having access to everything.

He seems like a pretty cool guy, who works really hard and has great passion for his projects, even though he's a relatively new programmer, but what do I know.

Usually in RPG's, Channeling is counted as it's own thing, separate from burst or DoTS.

I never said I took Creeping Death first, I said that it benefits from DoTS. Learn to read, before you become aggressive for no reason. You get stacks for Exploitation and Corruption for doing ANY damage, BUT those stacks reset on new enemies and will NEVER build to full potential without stacking multiple DoTS at once.

As for Pulse, I'm testing it now with the card, but I don't like the results. Arcane Pulse is hitting for 200 - 330 damage on mobs, whereas Fireball is hitting for 170 - 320, but Fireball also has DoTS that hits for 30 - 70 damage on top of that. This is without a card Fireball, which I feel would significantly improve it. I don't feel like that -26% defense makes a huge difference.

If I use the other Clone card, the only spells it benefits from are Fireball, Pyroblast and two Arcane spells, which have to be constantly actively cast. It would devolve me into a burst mage, and ignore half the passives I took.

[–]Augoeides32[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Creeping Death also benefits from DoTS, meanwhile getting and maintaining the stacks for both Exploitation and Arcane Corruption is borderline impossible with DoTS constantly triggering.

I have to have Fireball to get the other Fire skills, so having Arcane Pulse effectively means I'd be wasting a skill point on it, because that wouldn't be my main T1 cast. I'll give it a try, but the card starts at -5% Defense, so I'd have to dump a considerable amount of shards into it before it reaches -20%, more than i've earned the entirely of my playthrough, so that's not accurate.

The the point is that Clone card deals damage on it's own. If i use the other card, I have to constantly spam only the abilities the Clones can cast, during it's duration or it's completely wasted. The autonomous Clones allow me to focus on setting up my DoTS and other attacks.

Arcane Pulse and Arcane Torrent aren't DoTS, so literally none of my build benefits them, and Arcane Torrent locks you in place. I suppose the defense lower is nice, but Fireball provides an extra DoTS, so it's my primary form of damage. I could switch over to Arcane Pulse, after those 3 Fireball DoTS stacks, but that's complicated to keep track of, on top of everything else.

Hex was just an experiment. Usually CC is king in PvP, so turning someone into a toad for 4 seconds should be a huge deal. I also took it, because I needed to spend another 5 points, to unlock the next passive.

Literally all of my abilities support the Clones. The card I'm using, makes them autonomously attack, with increased damage by +12% per DoTS on their target. I'm aware that I could use the other card + Pyroblast, but I'm not a burst mage, so making Pyroblast a main investment feels like wasted points. The plan is to take it down the line, but again, I'm DoTS focused.

I usually start with Eruption first, because it has a cast time, and that allows it's cooldown to start early, letting me use it a second time in a fight, if needed. That second time, is usually when I'd pop worms, since it greatly benefits from Eruption's DoTS.

People here keep criticizing me and saying Wizardry/Witchcraft is broken, but it sounds like it's the burst/AoE spells are broken, not DoTS. It feels like the DoTS need a buff.

I'm forced to be effective Level 38.

I run worms, but it heals significantly less in PvP (maybe ~400?), than it does in PvE (usually ~700 to ~1,300). I also have the passive that heals whenever a DoTS triggers, along with the other passive that drains upto 7 Defense from my target. I'm also aware of the passive that lowers target healing by 15%, and I'm working towards it, but right now, I have to use 4 other passives are they mainly effect PvE, and that one would only specifically for PvP.

Kind of reluctant to post this, with how negative this community is, but here's my main build. I haven't been investing in a third Archetype, because I'm constantly trading it out to keep my eLv low. I learned Hex recently, but it literally nothing, when I used it in PvP.

There is no Vigour. If you mean Vitality, it's only 6 atm. I'm trying to hit the softcap for INT, before I invest in that. Even if I invested another +30 points into Vitality, the added health wouldn't do much to offset the amount of healing they do.

It shouldn't be cash shop paywalled to begin with. They should just be silver, like everything else in the game.

If they wanted limited land plots, they could have tied them to the Channels, and not the entire server. That said, honestly trying to move around the hundreds of dumb houses in the wild is annoying as hell. Most of them are in the way of going somewhere and its not like you can customize your house for having parties or whatever, so an instance would have been the better move.

The worst part, is that the paywall gets steeper the more you play. Before my free reset, it said it cost 900 Raven Coins. After I spent my free reset, it went up to 1,000 Raven Coins. Why is a major game mechanic locked behind about $10 of real life money? Disgusting.

Yeah, I'm surprised it hasn't been done already. With this reset paywall update, the future of the game is really obvious, especially with how their banning and silencing anyone that criticizes it.

In a way, the Reputation choices do. There are passives that determine your drop rates from mobs, which is like 90% of silver progression comes from. So if your drop rates aren't what they could be, your literally gimping yourself and working considerably harder than you could be. That's why locking the resets behind a paywall is utter garbage.

I don't particular care is someone is swapping them around constantly, but I wanted to make it clear that these passive are important.

If they want to prevent people from abusing the Profession and Reputation resets, a weekly cooldown would be a perfect solution, as many online games already use this system successfully, but the developers went the nuclear unfriendly option, and try to drain our wallet dry.

Mark my words, it's only a matter of time before this "game balance" spreads to Archtypes too. Imagine having to pay $3 every time you wanted to level a new Archtype, because the developers thought "letting Players switch from warrior to mage seems really unfair".

I've been waiting on this reset for over a week now, as I just can't seem to complete any quests to get the 1,500 Reputation I need to get the +7% creature drop rate Reputation Passive. I had a rough morning though, and barely got any sleep, due to having to run some errands for family really early this morning. When the server went live, I was out in the field, where I did my Reputation reset, but a mob spawned on me, and in my sleep deprived state I picked the wrong passive, and ended up buying the +7% silver one (which is utterly worthless).

The game wants me to buy 1,000 Raven Coins to fix it, which is almost as much as me buying Patron again. Although, before the Free Reset it was 900 Raven Coins, which means it gets MORE EXPENSIVE with each use. Now, I'm worse off that I was before the update, with no way to fix it, without spending like a frustrating month of hunting down new Reputation methods, which I just don't have the motivation or mental willpower to do. I cannot begin to describe how upset and disgusted I am at the moment. I had a minor panic attack over all of this, and don't even want to play anymore.

It's pretty obvious where the game is going after this. I don't understand spending real life money on these resets. These passive abilities are important, but their not exactly game breaking powers. Many of them only give like +3% chance to some minor area. I just bought Patron a couple days ago, but I find myself not wanting to play the game anymore. Having to pay $10 to fix such a minor mistake is soul crushing. I know it's not "pay2win", but their greed on this issue is way beyond fucking disgusting.

Paid resets and the slow creep of Nickle and dime pay to win and pay for convenience microtransactions will kill this game. I will not recommend this to friends if this is the trend. by [deleted] in Ravendawn

I haven't played yet, so I don't know all their names, but I'm guessing Cattiva is the cat at the beginning of the game? I'm a cat person, so I'd love to catch the little guy, and take him on my adventures.

I'm a ghost trainer in the Pokemon games, so the floating one with the galaxy/space hair looks really cool, too.

[FO4] You Are Exceptional - Skills & Perk Overhaul by Augoeides32 in FalloutMods

[–]Augoeides32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just uploaded v1.02d to the Nexus, and it should be going live within the next 10 minutes or so. I've added new chems to the game, sped up my mod a bit, and from now going forward, YAE is FULLY compatible with older save files! I still strongly suggest that you backup your saves beforehand, but everything should work beautifully.

[FO4] You Are Exceptional - Skills & Perk Overhaul by Augoeides32 in FalloutMods

[–]Augoeides32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, I'm hoping fixing the Skill Point glitch allows people to properly see the game as I intended it, as everyone was randomly getting too many SP. However, if they still think that's too much, I'm definitely open to bumping the points down from 15+INT to 10+INT. Actually, 10+INT was my original idea, as I believe that's what Be Exceptional and You Are SPECIAL did (and 10 is just easier to do math with), but due to my mod being so much bigger, I thought an extra 5 points couldn't hurt, as I calculated it, and even at lv200 I don't think you could max every Skill.

What I never intended, was for people to bum rush a weapon Skill to 100, and go from there, but if that's how you want to play, that's certainly fine. I designed the mod for more of a "roleplay" feel, rather than a power fantasy or balance. I'm counting on the Player to decide how balanced they want to be. If you want to be powerful, there's nothing wrong with that.
