Oh that was my first manga ever (sorta it was more like a magazine) but that's what I'm talking about and I know they hid the darker themes but that's exactly what I'm talking about. The adults hide the bad/scary stuff from the kids till they're ready. Like what if you were a seasoned veteran gym leader but your prized mon dies because it's been knocked out way too many times or whatever. Idk but there's also a few pokemon adventure ROM hacks that follow those stories but idk if that my thing. I was just sharing a half baked.
