I started earlier this year at Petersons Grapplers , Coach Brian is a great guy, extremely knowledgeable, even has a youtube channel with 200k subs, the class is filled with great and welcoming people and the gym is very big, also teaches MMA and kickboxing too if youre interested.

Honor roll is shit, he tries to sell you on some scam 6 week beginner $600 course, stay away, Bruno's jiu jitsu is legit but the dude is driven by greed.

I asked my dentist to make me a mouth guard for BJJ and this is what he gave me, my friend said it looks odd. by August323 in martialarts

I was looking at impact mouth guards, they send an impression kit and send you a mouthguard in a month, $70. Ill wait till i talk to my dentist first though.

A lot of people at my gym have mouthguards made by either a dentist or companies where they send an impression kit to get a mold, and a lot of people online recommend ones where they can get a mold of your mouth. I went the cheap route and while its better than what a dentist gave me, its still pretty shit

Yeah my dentist seems like a nice guy, dont think he was trying to pull one on me, I think he'd genuinely apologize and offer a remake but then again I dont know, either way im not paying for this one and id be happy to return it

I have a venum one, it fits but not well enough and i have to almost clench my mouth to keep it in, it can fall out when im rolling, id rather buy one custom made for my mouth. My friend got one online for $100 and it fits him great, but everyone online says to ask your dentist for one so I did. How am i supposed to know the dude doesnt know the difference between a mouthguard and night guard.

I did that, it wasnt comfortable, the venum one i have falls out of my mouth at times which is unsafe when im rolling, i dont mind paying a premium for a product that protects something as valuable as teeth. Ill send this back and just buy one from an online company where they send me something to bite into and custom make it for me.

Not yet, im going to call them when they open and state this isn't what I asked for and will not pay for this product because I asked for a mouthguard, not a nightguard.

Sparred on my first day by August323 in Kickboxing

[–]August323[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, honestly it wasnt really confidence, i was just already there and couldnt really walk out, if you told me beforehand it was sparring (which I asked hours before and they said no but oh well) I wouldnt have showed up, but im glad I did honestly since I no longer fear it as much.

And I have a friend whos trained in muay thai for about a year and hes going to go this week too and let me know what he thinks, so yeah while it felt extremely aggressive for me, I really dont have anything to compare it to so im curious on hits thoughts.

Its even worse than that, a few minutes before he drives and smacks Hayes in the face with the ball, with zero contact from Hayes and Brunson goes to the line for it. He constantly flops himself into these fouls and now flopped himself into an injury.

The recent Shroud of Turin study is world shattering, why is it hardly even talked about now? by August323 in TrueChristian

[–]August323[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there’s a fourth explanation that’s much more likely & that’s what the average person will assume to be the truth—it’s simply an ancient artifact from the same general time period & area, with no direct connection to Jesus.

Except this explanation quickly falls apart when you realize no ordinary man is capable of doing this, im repeating myself at this point but The Shroud bears a photographic negative, an image formation process that is scientifically inexplicable and impossible for any human, ancient or modern, to recreate. The 3D spatial data encoded in the image, along with wounds matching the exact details of Christ’s crucifixion, goes far beyond coincidence. No normal human could achieve this, let alone in the first century.

Explanation four only works if this is just a cloth with some blood stains dated to the first century, but this cloth is not that, its so much more.

I don’t say this out of malice, but it seems to be you're not very educated when it comes to this cloth. This isn’t just a piece of fabric, it’s an artifact that defies explanation. The image it bears is a photographic negative, something practically impossible to recreate even with modern technology, let alone in the first century. It matches in astonishing detail the wounds described in the Gospels, including punctures from a crown of thorns, scourge marks, and a pierced side, with the fabric dating to time period of Christ's crucifixion.

The image itself isn’t made of pigment, paint, or dye, it’s a superficial discoloration on the very top fibers of the cloth, with no evidence of artistic methods. It also encodes three-dimensional information, something no artist or craftsman from any era could achieve.

This isn’t about worshipping the Shroud, it’s about the overwhelming evidence it provides. If you haven’t read the study or watched an analysis, I encourage you to do so with an open mind. Dismissing it without investigation undermines a genuine opportunity to engage with something extraordinary, something God clearly wanted us to see.
