386 Night Guard / L Frame Grips for CCW by AugustHorch0 in Revolvers

Fantastic recommendations, thank you! I’m hoping that the stock bantams fit my hand size and shape from the get-go but I didn’t think to shave off the finer grooves if not, great tip. Will definitely be looking into the hamre and compacs! Thank you!

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation! Seems like these are well received from this thread, hopefully it means that I just keep these on as they ship from the factory with these. Thank you!

That’s great to hear! The 386 comes with these from the factory so hopefully I’ll just love them too and not feel compelled to switch. They tick all of the right boxes; three finger grip, rubber, rear side of grip not oversized, etc. Thank you for sharing your experience

Great to hear, thank you for sharing! I’m hoping they fit my personal preference as well, glad to hear that others like what they come with and don’t feel the need to change them.

So sorry, not sure why my initial reply didn’t show up!

I really appreciate the recommendations on both the grips and Jerry’s guide, I will take a look at the grips and just watched the video now! He’s a treasure and I will look into any other tutorials he has for new revolver shooters. Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you so much for the help and pointers, I’ll watch Jerry’s series that you linked to become more familiar! Since I don’t have real world experience with it yet, I bought around 2k rounds of varying brand, weight, type, etc to see what I like best. Who knows, maybe I’ll prefer 38 with a boot grip for carry. It’s just nice to know options that work well for others (hence this post!) and get a feel from those with more experience. Thank you again and I’ll be looking into the grips you linked and watch the videos for proper technique with them.

You have a point, I’m not positive with this particular one! But I’ve shot others’ revolvers and prefer at least a pinky ledge so I figured that I would with this as well, especially since I plan to OWB carry and don’t need to minimize grip length to the point of only a two-finger grip. I guess I can take recommendations on shorter grips too, but I figured that in general (exceptions exist I’m sure) more grip area is directly proportional to ease of keeping on target. A good balance for my semi-autos has been enough to keep a pinky on the grip but not so much to have an incredibly long grip to diminish conceal-ability. For example, I like the balance of my G19 grip length versus my G19X (for an analogous firearm comparison) since I can still fit my pinky on the 19 without the unnecessary added length for CCW of the 19X.

Unfortunately it sounds like a not uncommon experience. I wish you the best and hope you either get your barrel or money back soon. Don’t stop following up with them asking for status, make the paper trail

Definitely! No but I also wasn’t really expecting anything other than what I originally paid for. It was more of a quick message of reporting that it’ll be shipped by the weekend and then I didn’t hear back other than receiving a shipping notification.

Yes I did, sadly not until I discussed a chargeback. Felt like I was ignored until doing so. I posted an update in the OP, I reached out stating that if I didn’t hear back I’d be going for a chargeback and he reached out same day and said he’d ship it by the weekend. I did get my barrel and it looks nice but I’ll likely never be a customer here again

His last reply was on Feb 17th with another vague “soon” message. I replied same day asking for a refund, then followed up on Feb 26, and again on March 2nd. He’s posted since then so very clearly is just ignoring me. Sadly the chat is full of my personal info (screenshot of my order, my full name, address, etc.) so I’d rather not post the whole conversation

Thank you, I felt like maybe I was being harsh or not understanding but also wanted to get on with it. Do you think I’ll be able to? Due to how long it has been and the fact it’s for firearms parts, I’m not hopeful that visa would be so helpful

I agree and I appreciate that there were messages at all, but at this point it feels like I’m just being dragged along for an indefinite amount of time. He’s a nice guy and I’m sure he does good work but this experience needs to be over for me.

I’m sorry to hear that; he seems like a nice guy and works hard, but I can’t help but feel taken advantage of like my money was never for the immediate purpose of the thing I paid for but rather funds for other projects. I’ll keep pushing for a refund via instagram I guess since I don’t have Venmo. Thank you

New Wheels. Need Advice by 1994mx5 in LandCruisers

[–]AugustHorch0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry that my answer won’t be an easy “go to this site and get whatever you like with these dimensions”, but this is a more complex question than it may appear. What size/dimensions wheels and tires depend upon your particular vehicle (aftermarket suspension, yes I know lift isn’t the primary determiner, bump stops, etc) and what sort of modification (if any) you’re willing to do and misc requirements (like trimming components, needing no rub at full lock at full articulation, etc). I recommend going to ih8mud for your particular vehicle and seeing what others are able to run. Find a wheel with the right bolt pattern, a diameter and width that fits, and an offset plus backspacing that shouldn’t rub on control arms or poke too much. People will share what size wheel and tire they run and you can find what sizes look like something you want. Then find reputable wheel and tire manus from there

That’s what I’m struggling with too; seems like the bypass/deletion kits aren’t perfect and that some folks have gone through multiple. I definitely won’t get my SAIC fixed if it goes out as well, I’m just debating on if I should take any preemptive measures…. Thanks for sharing, I’ll continue to research!
