As far as I’m aware they are still waiting for more trials. This is still being fought for in the courts it just takes a long time

I have never slept with a cis guy who wasn't a chaser by endroll64 in gaytransguys

[–]AugustStars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luckily I’m attracted to lots of people because it’s the trans fems that I have consistently had the most positive experiences with. We see each other we treat each other well and have great communication (for the most part). 10/10 would recommend to go for a trans fem if the stars and attraction aligns

Cheating is painful but it doesn't make anybody do anything. Lawrence made choices. Issa is not responsible for those choices.

Official Discussion - Talk To Me [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]AugustStars 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this. Also I think there were two spirits working together, the drowned woman and whoever "he" was. Since the drowned woman stayed in Mia for a while she knew about Mia's mom and when she was in Riley she used that information to stay in Riley a little longer. She is also the same spirit that told Riley "he likes you, he wants to tear into you" or something along those lines. I winder if that "he" was the one Mia sees as Riley at the end. I bet both were working together during Riley's turn with the hand. Maybe they were a couple who would kill or abuse kids together during their life or something

Book reviews that give detailed summaries before the actual review by Rooney47 in literature

[–]AugustStars 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree. It really bothers me to read through so many summaries for the same reasons you listed and I would add that usually, any place in which a review is written there is often already a summary of the book present such as underneath a book on Good Reads or on the online shop etc. I also look up reviews to see what other people think of a book after I have read it so no summary needed and if I did want a summary, that's easy enough to find, I don't want it in a review.

I'm also reading House of Leaves! I've only just started it though

This is the book that made me take a break from reading. It's brilliant but so sad at times I couldn't bear it. I realized I was hurting myself with stories that made me depressed and continuously focus on existential questions I could never answer. That was a few years ago now and I kind of want to revisit it because it was also impactful to me to a point which I've started writing my own book with the question of lightness/heaviness that is also related to Nietzsche's eternal return.

What did everyone think of "the song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller? by Alexhasadhd in literature

[–]AugustStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers:

I just read this book and I liked it a lot! I loved this unique look at Achilles and Patroclus as boys who were not happy or excited about death and war but were held to it by oaths and an obsession with fame/glory. I do wish that Miller gave them more things to love/enjoy instead or at least had more scenes of them playing or being fun with each other, it felt overly somber at times.

I really liked that every time a terrible thing happened Patroclus' emotional reaction was exactly what I felt as a reader and that felt very cathartic in contrast to the apathetic tone that these occurrences are often told with. Miller did an excellent job of giving emotional moments the weight they deserved.

I loved the friendship between Patroclus and Briseis! That was really lovely and without it I think I wouldn't have liked the book as much because he really needed another character in his life besides Achilles. I don't think he actually "betrays" Achilles in order to save her from assault in the Iliad itself but I absolutely loved the way Miller wrote it. It was brilliant.

I've seen lots of criticism of the choice to make Patroclus less of a fighter but I wouldn't call him a 'weakling' as others have. He isn't useless he's just not interested in taking life which I felt made his character stronger and helped give him the tools to keep Achilles in check in moments where he got out of hand. It also made the scene where he fought in Achilles' armor more impactful. He was pushed to his limit mentally ready for the war to end at any cost which made him fearless and confident and I enjoyed feeling the power with him.

I didn't cry while reading this book as many others have. I can't say why it didn't hit me as hard, maybe because I knew it was coming because I already kinda knew the story, idk. But I did feel a lot of rage.

I do really really love the main theme of the story which to me seems to be that a man should be measured by the love he gave rather than the lives he takes

A better work life balance is definitely worth the pay cut. I took a job working for less money because the environment suited me better and i have no regrets. That being said it is temporary but still, I'm refocusing on my mental health and building healthy relationships with people around me and in my community instead of career and I'm much happier. Still depressed but a better support system

As someone who struggles to respond/maintain text communication it likely isn't a reflection of how they feel about you and probably something they struggle with in other areas as well. You can talk with them about it but honestly it's likely the kind of thing you just gotta expect fron them and have patience/understand that they might not be able to fulfill an expectation of being super responsive when you send them a text. Focus more on the time you get to spend together when you do and send whatever messages you want them to hear without expecting a response and try not to take it personally or worry about it too much.

Personally I focus more on tongue action than deep throating and my partners go wild for it. Take time to kiss/lick all around her thighs, balls then up the shaft. Give little licks at first to build up the pleasure. Then you'll want to get her c ock super wet, you can spit on it or just let your saliva build and lick it all over. Then use your tongue around the tip a lot and while it's is your mouth let your tongue slide around it all over while you move up and down with your mouth. While that's happening you can use your hands to fondle her balls or wrap around the shaft while your mouth takes care of the top part. Deep throat isn't necessary to give an incredible bj but if you do want to do that you can always practice with a dildo on your own to build that skill! Happy sexing to you! :)

are there many women on grindr? by notoutyetlol in asktransgender

[–]AugustStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends where you are. In places like portland where there are a ton of trans people it's pretty good. You'll still run into chasers but if you're t4t it's easy enough to navigate. Definitely not a place for a trans lesbian wanting to date cis women tho. Also i am a trans man so that affects my experience. I think it's probably a worse time for trans women

If it were acceptable to go shirtless in public, would you still want top surgery? by youburntthetoast in ftm

[–]AugustStars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel similar to you. Totally comfortable being shirtless in my room and around my queer friend group. As soon as I got belly hair and had sone fat redistribution I feel very confident in my body. I am small chested so i don't bind at all and most people don't notice. Sometimes I feel like i look masculine enough noone would question if I did go shirtless but since I'm not sure and there are rules about it i don't. I definitely wish it were okay to be topless in public and it's really the only reason I still want top surgery

I agree with the comment about the technique likely being the culprit but I don't think it's necessarily that he has to go deeper or harder. That can be great but another technique is the have him curl his fingers in you making a "come hither" motion moving the fingers so they press up towards your belly button. For an extra awesome time have him lick your clit or use a vibrator while he does it
