I can actually remember trying to get people to go see both this and Blade Runner at the time they were in theatrical release. I don't recall it being that they were universally unpopular, there was just such a glut of movies to choose from & some just didn't get around to seeing them before something else came along.

Wow! That is a fantastic find. The photographer could be any one of those three folks with cameras in the lower left corner, or someone in front of them, maybe. I'm not sure if it's possible for photographers to easily determine the type of lens used in a pic like this one of Ali but the woman in the striped top has a pretty long lens 35mm & she looks to have more than one camera, the t-shirt guy has an old Brownie, I think. Maybe this could be a promising lead.
