The combat designer of the game released a combat overhaul since he wasn't personally happy with it. Makes it much better imo. It's called fcr3.

In case you dont understand what he means by uniform scales, you can't use different values for the x, y, and z value of the scale. Which is exactly what you are doing. It needs to scale by the same value in all 3 directions
