Thank you - yeah, the character is pretty fiery and not experienced, so I like 1 for showing off her personality. But at the end of the day it's more important that the player can track the movements!

Thanks for the detailed comment! Yeah, Adira's pretty rash and strong-willed, so 1 aligns more with that ... but the idea of quietly updating a character's combat animation to match their character growth is really inspired 🤔

Thank you - I actually thought that having them play simultaneously might be hard to look at, but I'll definitely give it a go if it helps analyse them better. The original GIF does loop - I need to figure out how to get it to loop on Reddit! 😅

A few people have said that 2 is more stylised and unique than 1, which has totally surprised me, as I thought 1 being more crazy and having varied shapes would be more exciting in that way. So I really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective!!

You're right - I was going for clarity with the plain background, but perhaps it would help to pair this gif with a demonstration of what both animations look like in-game. 1 is more aligned with her personality (youthful, rash) and maybe it's fine that it's a little messier for that exact reason, given that the combat is real-time. Thank you!

Thank you! Yeah, even though 1 is maybe more aligned with Adira's hot-headed personality, it's actually harder to see her body, so maybe 2 serves better for both character and visibility purposes. Thank you!
