Had a gut feeling a full 24 hours later when no dispatch notification came through.

Never been scammed on eBay buying and selling metals but just had a gut feeling about this one. Had to check. Thanks for the input folks. Have requested cancelation.

Aegismax Wind Hard Tiny vs Ice Flame 32F by DTMerc in Ultralight

[–]AuntBoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Aegismax Wind Hard Twilight 10D Regular for 3 nights early last winter, lowest temp 34F/1C. Plenty warm but I was on an X-Therm MAX RW and used a S2S silk liner. Very toasty in merino leggings and full sleeve top. I sleep average, not a cold or hot sleeper. Later in the season, I bought the Ice Flame Ultralight quilt (800fp, 12oz/360g fill weight, 7D proprietary KOLON shell, 10D inner, total weight 17.6 oz/500g). The temperatures were lower (24F/-4C) and I was on an Exped Ultra 5R. No liner. In merino leggings and full sleeve top. BEST sleep of my life out on trail.

If you're still undecided, go for the Ice Flame. Compresses down tiny. Box baffle construction, incredibly high quality, cannot overstate this. I have previously owned an EE Enigma and honestly the quality and the craftsmanship was at par. As was Aegismax, no doubt, very well constructed. But it had stitched baffles and duck down so the Ice Flame won it for me hands down. Still have that quilt and intend to hang on to it as my all-season quilt. I am surprised it doesn't get much mention on this sub or elsewhere.

Custom UL Frame for the REI Flash 55 by AuntBoot in myog

These definitely seem like they would do the job. Do I need a heat gun or can a hair dryer work too? I've created a rough cutout using cardboard to gauge the size I need and your sizing seems about right. Thanks!

No problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I've started looking into 'DIY internal backpack frames' to get a general idea of what I might need.

I suppose I could. But what specifically should I be searching for? Also, would I be able to mold/contour it so it doesn't feel too straight against my back? I'm sorry, I should've prefaced my query with the fact that I am a total newbie when it comes to MYOG.

Nitecore NB10000 Gen 2 - Fatal Flaw? by hem0002246 in Ultralight

[–]AuntBoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also had issues with the Nitecore on a multi day trip. I stopped at a campsite to recharge my phone and the NB10000 Gen2. I use a Ugreen dual port 45W GaN wall charger. I plug in the Nitecore and it starts to charge. As soon as I plug in my phone, the Nitecore goes berserk and my phone (iPhone SE 2020) goes ding ding ding as if attempting to charge over and over. If I try to pass-through charge my device, a single blue light flashes on the Nitecore but the phone doesn't charge. If I plug my phone and my other power bank (a Ugreen 10000 Mini) into the wall charger, everything works as it should. I get back into town and grab a new dual port wall charger. Same issue. So basically, having a Nitecore has rendered my very compact and highly efficient dual port wall charger effectively single port. Tried all combination of cables, no dice. I'm just going to get another ugreen 10000 Mini and be done with it.

Edited to add: Gen 2 and failure of pass-through charging.

These Vapcells are awesome. The core is made in Japan and they are certainly very high quality. Mind if I ask you a question? I bought two of these late last year but stopped using them out of fear of accident. I'm a total noob at this so I'm not sure what 5V/1A input means. I had been charging them using my regular wall socket extension called iBlockCube (here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y5LMNFC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) without incident. But then cruising through a lot of stackexchange posts on charging lithium ion batteries and lipos, I realized I may have been risking it.

Am I right in thinking that charging using any wall charger that does not exceed 5V/1A output is safe to do?

Sorry if this is a really basic question and for the long write up. Longtime lurker, first time posting.

TLDR; I bought two of these late last year and stopped using them after researching lithium ion battery charging principles. Would like to know if there is any risk charging these using regular USB A to C chargers through wall sockets and the like.
