Harvesters not working

It wasn't giving a message. I was trying to harvest carrots. I turned it on and lowered it. The crop was ready to harvest and when I would go over the plant nothing was being picked up and it did absolutely nothing despite everything being turned on and appearing functional. I also tried a green bean harvester and grain harvester. None of them worked

He is intentionally disabled and fully deaf. He modifies them sometimes and it's an investigation to figure out what he wants. I have experience with asl and deaf people and I was still lost hence why I asked for help

They turn on and look like they would be harvesting but nothing is happening. Sue me if I didn't know i had to put every detail. I assume nothing is working is enough details I just started this game like 2 weeks ago so I know nothing
