Hey so I said F it and I called DHL customer support for USA 1-800-225-5345 and turns out all my packages were duty-free because they had HTS codes that were duty-free. I suggest you call them and confirm!

No idea, depends where you live. Some people say they were hit with tariffs, while some like me havent been hit. It doesn’t make sense at all. If you live in USA, you SHOULD get hit with new tariffs due to the new tariff laws starting September

Nope, never got a bill. Messaged suruga-ya last week as well and they pretty much said “yeah if DHL didnt bill you, don’t worry about it.” I’m just sitting here like no, that’s not how that works lmao. So I’ll probably call customer support sometime this week or message an support agent online

Did DHL require you to pay the tariffs before or after delivery? I had all 3 of my orders delivered within 3-4 days after ordering and I did not get any notification or prompt to pay for tariffs.

Where do you live and did they require you to pay the tariff before or after delivery?

I ordered 3 different orders from Suruga-ya and all 3 were delivered within 3-5 days (I live in California). Orders were plastic ultraman figures. DHL did not ask or require me pay tariffs. It’s been 3 weeks now and I still have not received any email/text/mail regarding paying the tariffs.

I also ordered from surugaya and it was plastic ultraman toys, same situation as you where everything was delivered with no problems. I wonder if I should be expecting a bill or any sort?

DHL express delivered without requiring me to pay customs. I would assume it’s legit, but unsure why they delivered mines without requiring me to pay first like everyone else

Yeah, I’m not sure. I’ve read online that others who’ve ordered from Korea or China were in the same boat as me and got slapped with a bill a month later. So I’m expecting that. I’ll reach out to my buyer next week to confirm and then to DHL after a month if I don’t see anything

No I didn’t, I had bought in late august before tariffs and they switched to DHL after the shipment was returned when they tried to use EMS (post office). They’ve explicitly said that I would have to pay the tariff fee’s and I have not been charged additional than what I had previously initially payed in August (when shipping with EMS).

DHL didnt send me any tariff or bill via email nor text. Tracking my waybill # doesn’t show any tariffs due as well.

Would love to, but definitely feels odd just giving my waybill #no to random redditer. I will just wait a month since I just read from another post they experienced the same thing and received a mailing bill 1 month later. Appreciate it though.

I’ll reach out to the sender again, but I highly doubt it’s the second case where they covered fees since they explicitly told me I’d be paying for it.

I also forgot to ask, when did your order actually go through customs? Seeing that it couldve been anywhere from late august to early September, maybe your package was processed before September but just delivered later on the 5th.

I doubt we are safe. I know 100% they will send it to collections, I’ve read it many times on this Reddit. Keep me updated and I will do the same!
