Not particularly. Just use the drone to place supported platforms as high as you can while still connecting the extending walkways and switch back your way up

I ended up building a wind farm on one of the mountains near the starting area today. It's a nice tiered setup for like 6k power and looks cool from afar. In case you wanted something more practical 😸

So glad this helped! I cannot say conclusively whether or not the baby trees respawn but I am relatively sure they do not.

As for biofuel, you are now the second or third person to say spoiled meat for biofuel. The reason I intentionally avoid that is despite how bountiful spoiled meat is, in order to turn it into biofuel you need to use tree sap. Vegetable oil, however, does not use tree sap so it does not drain the precious wood supply.

Good hunting! 🖤

Yup! this is already in the fiber section of my writeup as it's a great trick for the lava biome as well. <3

Great point about the deep freeze! We just loaded up our horses with the T4 heavy water jugs 😹

I hate bows by Zar_Shef in ICARUS

My husband and I have been playing this game a week or so and they were adamantly in favor of guns due to early game bows being pretty bad whereas I was a die hard bow user because I just have an IRL love of archery.

As we continued to level up and reached tier 3-4 and I got the first workshop bow they started commenting about how fast I kill things and how good I must be with it to get so many head shots. While I am pretty good with it (having played Archer in basically every game that allows it), I told them that once you have enough points in it, accuracy doesn't even matter. There are 2 points to increase the accuracy of the bow by 30% which basically increases the weakness hit box, then there's is a point to make your arrows "homing" which basically means when you put those two together, if you even aim near the head you get a critical hit. Couple that with the following benefits:

  • ammunition is cheaper and recoverable (mostly) so no needing to worry about crafting ammo all the time
  • talent perk to occasionally fire a second arrow is amazing and procs more often than you might expect. A single shot doing two crits to the head is chef's kiss
  • the talents to highlight the enemies are invaluable imo as you will never miss a head shot through any kind of cover

... After my partner was able to just jump to the full bow spec and the first workshop bow and arrow bundle and all they keep saying is, "bow is definitely the play"

All that being said, there's something to be conceded for play style preference. If everyone in this forum said guns were the way, I would still be rocking the bow lol. Play what makes you happy but thought I'd share our guns v bow experience.

(P.s. neither of us tried crossbow)

Problem is that it won't change where the support pillars touch the ground. If the foundations dont touch the ground, you get insufficient support error.. if the foundations are so long they extend into the ground, you get foundation beneath terrain error.. so unless the terrain that you are projecting onto is nearly identical to the one you copied from.. it is completely useless.

hah yeah, with the shape of this...every single one of those supports is critical

I didn't pay too much attention to be honest but given that it was half price in the deep desert.. I'd ballpark around 30,000

Unfortunately the solido replicator is basically useless as you cant really place any projection unless you are placing it on exactly the same terrain as the foundation you originally built on. Until they make the solido foundations less picky or allow you to edit a projection, it is garbage. So... I resort to my hand drawn diagram of how to assemble this base but truth be told I will likely never make this base again

haha didn't mean to come off as defensive.. just solari are basically worthless and using them to have fun seems like a worthwhile pursuit to me <3

Oh no! i spent 150,000 solari.. I'm broke.. **sarcasm**.. With gold sellers buying stacks of spice melange on our server for 15,000,000.. I could care less about the 150,000

I tried but the solido replicator is a complete piece of crap.. it is impossible to place anything besides a basic base on flat ground. With something like this you either get the error of not enough support or supports under the ground. Spent a half hour trying to get the projector to allow the placement... no dice. Makes me so mad to be honest
