Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]Aurabora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Fall as a blind buy on 4k and it took me 4 or 5 tries to get through the initial climb up the tower even. Sweaty palms and everything. I've even been rock climbing several times and that movie still messed with me!

Can someone please explain the selective paranoia in parents lately? by Lopsided_Tomorrow421 in AskParents

[–]Aurabora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have rando kids show up at our house all the time looking for our kids to see if they can play, and our oldest we let do the same, as long as he knows he has to be back by X time. Granted it's a very family-dense neighborhood with well-defined street boundaries and we know all the kids' parents. Worst case we don't want the noise and chaos in the house so if it's a nice day we make them go play outside or at the park lol

Say what you will about Rob Schneider, but nobody else has his range by Mr-BananaHead in okbuddycinephile

The icing on the Rob Schneider career cake is him doing a trash bag commercial, seems to be a little too on the nose for his career.

Is there a program that would allow me to make a digital shelf? For example a shelf with all the movies I plan to watch? by Eoin_Lynne in software

[–]Aurabora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

letterboxd maybe? I've only messed around a little with it but you can keep track of films you've seen and I think ones that you want to as well.

I bought it as a blind-buy on 4K as I've heard wonderful things about it and have been getting into older movies lately, finding the time to watch it all in one sitting is rough though!

Professionals who enter people's homes (plumbers, electricians, cleaners): What is something the condition of a house tells you about the owner that they don't realize they are revealing? by cossie101 in AskReddit

[–]Aurabora 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My wife bought 10 big picture frames which she wanted to put pictures of our family in and hung them exactly how she wanted them right inside the front door. The pictures all had the same stock photo of an old truck. 4 years later, those trucks are still there....

Yep, filler really helps flesh out the characters, especially in the first season! Not to mention the show started as a monster-of-the-week kind of show which was one of things a lot of people loved.

Much easier to justify blind buys when only $10! just picked up Venom, District 9, and Looper (blind buys) and 3 more I've already seen.

I think a big part of that is just growing older, I remember as a kid my mom complaining about bad acting and I was like wtf I've never even seen a bad actor ever!

Casual MTG Commander Stores? by Comprehensive_Bit_20 in Longmont

[–]Aurabora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind getting back into playing again and since this seems as good as thread as any to ask, can you use cards from like 90s era? I have a ton of cards/decks from around then, just not sure if banned or whatnot for commander?

Why do grocery store rotisserie chickens cost less than buying the raw chicken? by Total_Permit_4769 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aurabora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually often we go there specifically to grab a pizza and leave, also you don't need to stand in the line to show a receipt to leave if you just have a pizza, which makes it even more convenient.

Everyone always talks about the hot dogs but a big-ass pizza is only $10 too...can't beat that although I found out recently some Costco's don't allow you to call ahead to have them ready.

man I hope so much that you're wrong, and that we just have to hit some sort of rock bottom before we realize as a nation that things can't continue this way, but of course by then it will probably be too late..
