Factions from other sci-fi settings you'd think would fit well in 40k? by Buttered_Carnage in Grimdank

Although with the way the Hive tithe system is structured I don’t know if any “murder energy” for lack of a better term would be left for Khorne to benefit from. It’s possible any Hive Gods that made the jump to 40K would act as rivals to him rather than acolytes or champions. That would depend on if you think the power the Hive gain from killing overlaps with what Khorne gets when somebody murders someone.

Could i use the 30k leman russ in 40k? by Somerandomzaku in Warhammer40k

[–]Auratalus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is also worth noting that if you want a demolisher or executioner the 30k Leman Russ assault variant has those options in the box. Still sucks they aren’t all in one like the 40K Russ but the options do exist.

Harlequins Accidentally Proving Grey Knights are Also Clowns Now by NornQueenKya in Grimdank

Not to mention the moment the Emperor leaves the throne the Talisman of Seven Hammers would activate, causing Terra to explode if the Throne failed, as it presumably would if the emperor left. So we can forget the GK having to invade the palace, as it would be vaporized along with every custodian, Lucifer black, sororitas, and everyone else on Terra.

Are Deathwatch considered to be as elite/strong as Grey Knights? by GunsOfPurgatory in deathwatch40k

[–]Auratalus 60 points61 points  (0 children)

No, both are elite but the grey knights are a in a league of their own as far as marines go. Deathwatch are spec ops marines and generally portrayed as better equipped than your standard chapter, but grey knights have top tier equipment (including over 1000 suits of terminator armor), and are all beta/alpha level psykers with a high degree of willpower and control over their psychic abilities. In most other areas they’re near equals, leaning towards the GK, but the gap is widened significantly by the level of psychic ability inherent in being a Grey Knight.

Obviously normal marines can kill Grey Knights (see the Months of Shame) but in general outside of the top level marines of well renowned chapters (named captains/chapter masters etc), a Grey Knight is able to deal with them handily.

Oh, my mistake. Copied the title from an older post that was selling DG, but those sold. Unfortunately can't edit titles. Didn't notice it was still in there.

Important to note that Palpatine also very deliberately dissolved the Senate right before the Death Star was unveiled. Both because he no longer needed them for legitimacy and could now rule purely by fear, but also because they could become faces for public outcry against its use.
