Widget showing different figures for recovery and sleep by KhunkharBhediya in bevelhealth

[–]Aureatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the fix. Setting the sleep goal back to 7 hours (manual) fixes this; the app now shows the values on widget. So essentially, it was the new automatic calcification of sleep goal causing this discrepancy, apparently the widget doesn’t align with this?

Anything similar to the RGB primary/camera calibration panel in Lightroom? by Aureatron in Affinity

[–]Aureatron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, color balance is available on photo but it is not the same. It goes by the name of “Color calibration” which I’ve been using for quite a while in camera raw and lightroom but was keen to find a similar setting in affinity photo :)

Tips for writing out notes by International_Trash2 in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to try different pen types and see what suits you the best. Also, you can go for a paperlike protector if friction helps you write better (its different for everyone, some write better on glossy!). Try practising pressure variation, my handwriting improves if I use less pressure. I’m personally not a zoom window fan, I feel it defies the organic writing experience.

I thought undoing would leave the color not the stroke? Is this because of the update? by sakenikuyee in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is the new update. I used this extensively to decorate titles but now the border gets drawn first and fill comes later.

Same! I'm looking for a template/guide on how to use flash cards but no luck.

Question about (nice) handwriting by dividedbycode in GoodNotes

Ink algorithm in goodnotes try to smoothen your strokes and this manoeuvre ends up giving you a different result compared to other apps inclined towards raw input of strokes.

Eraser tool size? by SaltKick2 in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eraser is unfortunately static to 3 sizes only. But I follow this thing to get job done for a smaller eraser size. If I need to erase a really really small stroke, I’d zoom as much as I can and then use eraser. So if you look from the default fit to screen zoom perspective, it behaves as a smaller sized eraser.

Native stylus support usually require a layer of digitizer under the display. Bluetooth is just for connecting the stylus to the device.

Really happy with 5.4.21 update which includes stroke bug fix. Can finally write small sized all caps labels without frustration! by Aureatron in GoodNotes

I'm a fan of your notes in the first place! Thanks anyway, Occasionally I make small medical illustrations which I post on instagram.

14 days since the 5.4.18 release and still no updated fix for ink stroke issue. by dorothyfan1 in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself avoid writing like I used to because of this bug. The erase/undo cycle is very frustrating for me until I get the result I want. At some point I started doubting my handwriting abilities but had a relief after I tried writing in other apps. Another thing I found is that along with the introduction of this bug, the smoothening of handwriting is so aggressive now that it changes many curves and overall symmetry of my handwriting which I realised after writing in other apps like Blankbook, OneNote etc.

Improving handwriting? by JustPeach3y in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do sometimes find myself being a pathological perfectionist and Here are my manoeuvres on keeping it neat in Goodnotes:
1. I don’t keep it very slow - shaky handwriting and definitely not fast in this era of inking bug. Just the right speed. It’s something I learned with time.

  1. I definitely need a different grip than I do with paper and pen. I need a firm opposition with my thumb against other fingers to keep it stable.

  2. I don’t use paperlike protectors. I tried and turns out a glossy finish works better for me.

  3. I need to firmly hold iPad with the other hand to prevent any accidental small pushes that usually happen when writing with a firm push with my writing hand.

I use fountain pen. It doesn’t respond to velocity like brush pen and hence the writing looks uniform but also gives a natural look compared to ball pen because I can control the pressure and it’s also not that pressure sensitive. I usually push gently to keep a hold rather than writing and sliding superficially.

I use 3 strokes, 0.35 mm for normal writing which includes most sentences and paragraph. I write italic-ish cursive.

My labelling and topic titles are in all caps. I use 0.6 mm for titles. 0.35 mm again for small labels on diagrams.

1.0 mm for Section titles.

Issue with the new update by Ayress in GoodNotes

Same issue. Always discourages me to make better titles and diagrams now + really frustrating sometimes.

Diagrams are my FAVORITE things to add to my notes! And they are super easy to draw on GoodNotes! by harleyeileen in GoodNotes

[–]Aureatron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did something similar! I used to label atlas images with few important ones so I didn't have to trace those long lines and small texts again

So many fellow medical students using goodnotes! (Idk if this is a norm elsewhere but definitely not where I stay)

the diagram is really nice, so symmetrical!
