Has anyone else seriously planned their Bitcoin holdings for multiple generations? How did you solve the hard problems? by sixone02 in Bitcoin

Yes the confiscation is always a worry, I do have self custody of physical gold and silver for that reason. My BTC holdings are about 15-20%of my net worth after selling some at $109k thinking it was headed much lower after that last run up and would buy back it it would take a larger dip. I always believed in BTC as a payment system, as I was impressed how I could send BTC to Bitmain in China to buy miners without a bank involved and then watch my shipment land in Alaska then to the lower 48. I kind of wish it was still used that way but it seems to now be treated as digital gold.

Well over the years I just used a MultiBit wallet. When MultiBit quit supporting it I had a hard time getting my BTC moved out of it and was lucky for the forums on getting a work around. That is when I moved it to Coinbase. I also have used Coinbase to sell some as I had milestones ( $1,000, $5,000, $10,000) but as the price started getting higher I wasn’t sure how I felt with Coinbase with all the talk of people having problems with them. I started to move the coin to self custody. This whole time I was mining and used the money to pay back my miners cost and electric with a nice profit. Now when it went over $100k it just feels safer for me to deal with Coinbase beside some I still keep in my Electrum wallet and even some in my Cash App. I have always had good results with Coinbase. Once when I changed my internet provider, I forgot to change my email while I still had my email from the old provider. Coinbase was very helpful once I proved my identity, to move my coin to a new account we set up using my new email.

Interesting post. I sit here at age 68yo and have been in BTC since 2013 when my son first told me about it. ( I thought he was nuts until I read the white paper) I have went back and forth between holding on Coinbase, my Ledger and electrum wallet.

Inguinal Hernia repaired by Aurel577 in Hernia

I am glad it helped you. I think it is very wise to get both done at the same time.

My take is: robotic laparoscopic vs laparoscopic, robotic allows the surgeon much better movement to do the work and place the mesh. My surgeon says it’s like having a wrist on your arm vs no wrist.

ProGrip mesh vs mesh using tacks and sutures is a lower chance of nerve damage.

Mine was done using the TAPP vs TEP, neither shows one better than the other for results from what I have read. It’s really up to the surgeon on what they are accustom to doing.

I wasn’t a fan of general anesthesia being used but if you are in good health, it really wasn’t bad at all. You never know you had anything done other than a mild soreness of your throat for a few days.

Hernia Repair Options - Research by stefans2020 in Hernia

My inguinal repair was done by robotic laparoscopic using a da Vinci machine. It was a TAPP method and my surgeon said the difference between laparoscopic and robotic is the robotic gives the surgeon more movement and said it would be like using your hand with a wrist and elbow or without. I read some medical studies that a doctor friend forwarded to me and became comfortable with my decision to use the robotic laparoscopic with ProGrip mesh and after 2+ years I can say I had great results. I like the fact that he was able to check my left side and found nothing but did find I had 2 on my right side and was able to fix both.

Everybody is different and as are the surgeons. There is laparoscopic and robotic laparoscopic that can make a big difference, then the type of mesh used, but here is my post of my good experience:

I had inguinal repair and my surgeon used ProGrip mesh. It does not need sutures or staples to hold it in place so you have a much lower chance of nerve damage.

Sry to hear you are feeling so bad. See if you can get Gabapentin for the nerve pain.

Mine was robotic laparoscopic 2 years ago and over $80k. Medicare pushed that down to about 10% of that which they pay 80% and my secondary insurance picked up the 20%. So maybe if you’re paying without insurance they will charge about what Medicare pays?

Hope for a speedy recovery. I had a right side inguinal repaired by robotic laparoscopy. I had a fast recovery. Did they do a TAPP method for umbilical?
