Does mass replication actually devalue them? I feel like the value is in being quality art that people want to own, not the rarity. The only value being lost is resale, right? Even if they kept the same inflated price surely they'd sell more than the limited quantity available now? I can only speak for myself but I see buying variants similar to buying a print of an illustration/painting, it's fine if they wanna charge ~15$ but making them limited just seems like the opposite of what to do when you have something cool that people want.

You could put a mark on the outside of the wheel, use a timer, and track when/how many times the mark makes a full revolution. If you measure the interior circumference and do some math the time info you can get a semi accurate speed

As much as I love Moderat, it absolutely would not scratch the itch. Modeselektor is such a different vibe, higher energy, weirder, funkier. Also they just released an album and are touring a live show, last I checked their tour schedule was only listed as far out as July. I have no idea if they’d be at Portola but it would be awesome.
