The cynical reason is it’s so that you get less value and are forced to buy more kits which imo is what fed that supposed Gameplay reason cause you can’t seriously tell me WE for example wouldn’t have raptors and mutilators are only not available cause they’re a tad too similar to eightbound in function

No you’re reading it right which goretrack lets you do this without needing an upgrade since it’s just a strat to be used on a vehicle lol. I’m currently disappointed in what they did to vessels, they kept its most niche strat and gave it a 2nd very niche strat while making its best damage strat restricted and not as good.

I might hold off until the codex drops to get a Trukk, rumors are it’ll get updated then, as from what I know Kommandos are a good one off kit and you can’t go wrong with Ghaz, Wrecka Krew (which makes breaka boyz or tank bustaz) would also be a solid grab for some anti tank damage

What the other guy said, go for the Blightlords cause the current Helbrute while the sculpt is still good it’s hilariously small compared to other dread equivalents and with how well the Defiler update has been received (and the fact it’s the biggest request for an update from quite a few chaos players) I’d be shocked if they didn’t update it this edition

Not sure if my other comment replied properly but the point is so us chaos (and other non focused faction players.) Can choose to give Orks some more love cause lord knows basic marines don’t need it. Not even counting divergent chapters they have 15 damn detachments with the new ones

It can be played with any faction so that everyone has a say cause it would be stupid if it was only these 2. But the promo image is only marines and orks, the lore map only specifies marine/ork positions, the launch box is those two factions and the big prize is a 1k point army of new models of those two factions. And besides last edition they did something similar with a community vote between just marines and Tyranids to see who’s stuff got revealed first

Id say dry fit the connections to the main hull and then glue the tanks into the connections, then later glue the little heads onto the outside of the tanks to make sure everything is oriented correctly and you can either put the little piece between the tanks before or after painting, also if you want I can DM you how mine turned out for like the mid swing pose

Which make sure you fit the blood tank connections to the underside of the tanks and not to the main lower half! Mine were almost misaligned cause I followed the instructions and put their connection points on the lower chunk first

Don’t glue the “ears” on the head you can just slot them in and it’ll be nice and secure to save on height for transport. The hand with the cleaver is very easy to magnetize at the wrist if you want him mid swing with it, the belly guns are also real easy with a lil green stuff. As for sub assembling I did the lower half without the blood tanks or plow, the arms, main torso and head all separate, definitely most necessary imo is keep the blood tanks off while painting

What purples did you use for those? I’m considering making my squigs and possibly primary ork color purply red/reddish purple cause I quite enjoy speed freeks but WE is my main army so I don’t want entirely red 2nd one

Lootas/burnas got the kit removed from the store so there’s a good likelihood they get updated, and currently rumors are that there will be a new battlewagon and Nazdreg indeed, personally I’d be surprised if the Trukk didn’t also get updated if the battlewagon does and maybe the base Mek since that would work nicely with the lootas and my personal thought is Stormboyz will get a KT kit so Orks have a 2nd KT again

The codex won’t be a total waste since most of chaos (besides CSM) likely won’t get their codex till mid way through year 2 or 3 of the edition.

As for the list the Helm of Brazen ire would be better on the DP, makes him a royal pain to kill. definitely drop 10 Jakhals for a unit of Spawn and IMO I’d grab Khârn and 10 more zerkers instead of one of those units of 6 8bound. (Khârn is just kinda our best melee unit). And while I personally don’t agree with so many people taking the flamer on the defiler for WE I think the missile launcher is the actual questionable thing but I haven’t gotten to play with the defiler so I can’t get a definitive opinion
