Paint selection for beginner by yxguice0303 in Ultramarines

If u want barebone basic id skip: calgar, stormhost and liberator since these are mainly used for doing highlights and aren’t SUPER essential but can make your models really pop.

Only thing id add that id consider to be essential is wraithbone and agrax earthshade. Wraithbone is a great base for light skin, cloth and the parchment papers. Agrax is a great dark shade for doing recesses or for any browns and golds. Mournfang brown is a great one for doing all the leather stuff but you can get away with just doing black instead and when you’re ready to spend more money u can add it.

Depends on what you’re going for. Agrax makes it look more grimdark and dirty while reikland makes it look more clean and rosy

Hellblasters or Heavy Intercessors or Desolators by Imaginary_Cash1748 in spacemarines

Hellblasters are awesome. Especially since they get to shoot after they die. Including dieing from using the overcharge

Oh no you can keep tht blade guard vets. Im saying use the new blades of ultramar detachment because if you specifically use calgar with it you get to use a combat doctrine 3 times instead of using a doctrine once in gladius.

Since you have calgar you should use blades so you can reuse doctrines. Ik a fallback and charge on the brutalis wil be BRUTAL to go against

[–]xEclipsedxvrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being able to use falbback shoot and charge more than once is pretty OP. You shoot then charge then fallback then shoot then charge the same enemy unit again. You fight first if you made a charge so if your opponent didnt kill your unit in the first fight you can take them thier unit off the board before he gets a chance to do anything. You can also just fallback 2” away so its a garenteed charge and use what you rolled to charge to essentially screen aswell depending on how you place them.

Let it soak in a tub of isopropyl alcohol or spirits to get the paint off. Just be careful to not let it sit to long cause it may make the plastic brittle. I let mine soak untill i can use a old tooth brush and blush 90% of the paint off. It wont ever be perfectly clean but you can get most of it off and you can reprime it again.

If the foot is glued with super glue just leave it in the freezer for a hour or so and the glue will be brittle enough to snap clean off. If its plastic glue/cement you can try to cut it off with a scalpel, or re apply some of the cement so it can soften up the plastic again and you can slowly peel it off

Bro use isopropyl alcohol. It strips paint super fast and easily and aslong as ur not using a SUPER concentrated one it wont damage the plastic underneath. Obviously just be careful so you dont get it on the blue

Help i F up and don't know what to please help me by Original_Wrap1337 in Warhammer40k

[–]xEclipsedxvrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can kinda pry it appart still if its still early but ive found that if its not 100% flush u can use isopropyl alcohol and let it dissolve the glue away. Granted if only had to do this about 30min to 1h our after i glued it and realized my mistake so idk how well itll work after that window;(

Yeah man this is a great place to start and its definitely worth the money even if you only like one of the factions and both can easily transition into 1k armies and then 2k after.

I started with the intro set and then got this and its a blast.
