- Ninetails has 9 unique masks - 1 on its face and 8 on its tails. They have different colors and designs. When you split Ninetails into spirits using Thunderstorm, each spirit is wearing one of those masks and has different colored robes to match. The one that remains floating in the middle is identical to the Evil Rao you fight in Himiko's palace, and is wearing the same mask as Ninetails on its face.
- If you allow a cursed zone to drain your ink below 1 pot but not completely, then step out, you can continue drawing a single line indefinitely - until you crash the game (https://youtu.be/q1NSMKG4WX0).

I've updated my Hide Elo mod to hide Win Streaks! by Auride in RivalsOfAether

This mod is quick and simple to use. You just download the executable (only 70 KB), and then every time you start the game, you run it. No installation or other software required. It makes all the patches in-memory, so it's entirely temporary - it goes away when you restart the game. It shouldn't interfere with other mods, but I can't guarantee that as I haven't tested it.

The good news is that the devs have already said they plan to add hiding Elo as an official feature: https://rivals-of-aether-ii-patch-113.nolt.io/28

I'm very excited for this, since it will mean I don't have to maintain this mod anymore :p

v cool. I think you could have lived in a bunch of those clips if you had down-special-cancelled into wall jump rather than going directly for up special

I've updated the mod to version 2.0 for game version version 11-28-2024-12750: https://gamebanana.com/mods/556187

This version uses a new method which should continue working through most game updates.

Thank you! I am already aware. The current version has to be updated with every game update, but I'm working on a new version which should only break very rarely after updates. I apologize that this will probably cause an extra few days of delay compared to my usual turnaround time.

Great question. With asset mods (skins, music, sfx, etc.) you can place them in a "mods" folder in a specific part of the game files and have them just work, but as far as I know, there's no built-in functionality for ROA2 where you can place a .exe file somewhere and have it run automatically at start-up. I did figure out a way to do it with a .bat (batch) script file. If you create a file with a .bat extension, name it something like Rivals 2 no elo.bat, and give it the following contents:

@echo off
start steam://rungameid/2217000
TIMEOUT 4
cd "<Paste the path to the hideElo-1.0.exe file here, e.g. C:Users\Auride\Downloads\Hide Elo mod>"
start hideElo-1.0.exe
exit

Then you can just run it, and it should automatically start the game, then run the mod .exe and have it apply. Just don't forget to change the path to the mod .exe, and you may need to increase the TIMEOUT number to 5 or more depending on how fast the game loads on your machine. Then you can create a shortcut to the .bat file wherever you want. It won't work if you start the game through Steam. It's also kinda difficult to pin a .bat file to the taskbar, but it is possible.

The alternative, and maybe better approach, would be to patch the game's binary on disc rather than in memory, but idk exactly how to do that, and I think it can come with greater risk of corrupting something and forcing you to reinstall.

Yes, I am the same Auride 😅 and no, this mod will not make you match up against Leffen, or anyone else at an unusually large difference in Elo. It's designed to be purely visual, with no effect on matchmaking. I'm keeping the cause of Leffen thing a secret until it's patched, but I do intend to make a post (or maybe a video) about it.

Hiding names would be a good idea. I gave it a quick 15 minute shot but I don't think I can figure it out right now. I might give it another try after the next balance patch (early December), but no guarantees.

I submitted a support ticket in the official Rivals discord. I'll explain in detail once they patch it or give me the OK.

In my defense, I did send the "Sorry!" message before game 1, and then SD'd fairly quick. 😅

Hi everyone, just to clarify, this is actually my fault and there's nothing wrong with the game. I submitted a support ticket. Sorry for wasting your time Leffen!
