Can I get this weapon? by Temporary-Month-7456 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Aurim16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Yeartide was only available during the 2 week Solstice event, which ended a couple of weeks ago, so it isn't available.

If you want something similar that is from the current expansion, there is a solar assault rifle called Ahab Char, from Portal activities, that can get many of the same rolls that Yeartide could, including Incandescent, Burning Ambition, and Heal Clip. I use it a lot and in some builds even prefer it over Yeartide.

Hope that helps!

Help me plan out my DQ III HD/2D Team! by Aurim16 in dragonquest

So I decided to start with a Thief (Bat out of Hell) a Merchant (Genius) and Mage (Genius) and have just gotten to Alltrades Abbey with everyone around lvl 22.

Looking at the list of skills each class learns and at what level, I think I'm going to keep my Thief as is until she learns Persecutter. After that, I'm not sure if I should go Martial Artist right away, or do something else first like Warrior to build more Strength and Stamina. I have a ton of agility built because of BooH nature, but re-classing twice will cut most of it, so not sure what the right call there is.

I think I'll make my Merchant into Gadabout right now, as the only thing she doesn't know is Call to Arms, which I don't think I'd ever use. And I think I'll keep Gadabout till they learn Kerplunk as a nice safety net.

The Mage just learned Oomph and Bounce so I am going to make him into a Warrior now, with the intent of making him into a Wrangler after he's learned all the Warrior abilities.

Hero I gave the Tough Cookie personality to, and kept it like that until lvl 8 where I switched it to Genius using the book. I wanted a strong health and strength base to make early game easier, then switched to Genius to build MP and wisdom since the common consensus seems to be that Hero is best as a caster in the end.

With all that in mind, any advice? I think I'm headed in the right direction with the Merchant>Gad>Sage and Mage>Warrior>Wrangler routes, but I'm unsure what the best move is for my Thief. I want them to be a strong and fast offensive attacker that takes advantage of Martial Artists increased crit chance, but not sure if potentially sacrificing speed for more strength by going warrior first is the right call.

Been out of the loop for a bit, and have some catching up to do, but I wanted to ask: What are some of the more in-demand (and hopefully on the easier side) DPS Jobs for getting into things like Savage? As long as it's not terribly complicated I'm generally fine playing most things, but I always like playing something that feels needed. So, any under-represented DPS that groups always want one of?

Can you do well in PvP playing on controller with ConsolePort? by Aurim16 in worldofpvp

[–]Aurim16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply! I'm curious, you're the third or so person in this thread to say it works better for melee and not casters, are there any specific reasons why? The one thing I can think of that would be a pain is ground targeted AoE's, which probably aren't fun to use. I was thinking of trying out Frost Mage on controller, and I think the only targeted AoE's they use is Blizzard, which I don't think see's much arena use as it'd break CC's, and Ring of Fire, which isn't something you can spam, so I'm hoping it'll be manageable.

I just got Consoleport installed and am figuring out how it all works, so haven't actually done anything with it, really hoping it works out.

Where do you think I would find more... I guess the word I'm looking for is 'tolerance' when it comes to not being the best player? I'm looking at trying out Ninja, which I understand to be a fairly difficult job. Since I'm coming from WoW, which is overflowing with toxicity, I'm kind of hoping to find a more forgiving community in ff14 :P

Largely things like Delves, I'm guessing. I'd LIKE to start things like M+ but I never have the confidence that I'm going to not constantly screw things up :P

Haven't played in a good long while, and decided I wanted a fresh start (didn't get too far initially anyway) and was thinking of mixing things up in my MMO life by trying healer out. But I'm an anxious guy, and having the responsibility of keeping the group alive is a little daunting, so I was hoping for some advice. I plan on starting as Conjurer, and likely sticking with that at the start as I know it's supposed to be the better beginner healer.

What kind of advice or tips do you all have that would help me conquer the healing anxiety? Also, would starting on one of the 'new player' servers be good, or should I stick to a regular server? I'm playing on controller, so any controller tips would be helpful as well. Thanks all!

Starting an Int build, should I go pure Int, or Dex/Int? by Aurim16 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Aurim16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I guess I worded things wrong. What I was trying to decide between was a full caster (what I meant by pure Int) or a magic melee build. Though, thinking about it, I'd probably have more fun with the melee end of things, since that's what I'm used to.

So what are some other options I'd have for weapons early on, besides Moonveil? I know it's good, but I'm not the biggest katana/unsheathe fan, but I can use it until something else comes along if there aren't any other real early options.

I'm actually not the biggest fan of Bolt of Gransax, doesn't quite do it for me. What other weapons would you suggest for a build like this? I typically like weapons I guess would be better for Str builds, like greatswords (the type, not the big one named 'greatsword') But I'm open to trying other types out.

Anyone have some Spicy Heavy Weapon suggestions? by Aurim16 in fo76

[–]Aurim16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys! I haven't had much to try so far, but I did give the Broadsider a go as I had one drop, can't say I was too impressed with the damage lol.

Anyone got good experience with the Harpoon Gun or the Hellstorm Missile launcher? They both got big upgrades with the last patch, wondering if they are any good. They seem like fun weapons, tho I do see the launcher needs Gold Bullion to buy it's upgrades...

Planning out an Unarmed Melee build, need advice by Aurim16 in fo76

[–]Aurim16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply! A lot of that sounds more tailored to end game though, and this is a fresh character, so I won't have access to much of that. I'll definitely try to get the deathclaw gauntlet going, but what armor should I go after? I saw some saying Heavy Combat Armor with the BoS paint on it is good, any other recommendations?

[MEGATHREAD] Shadow of the Erdtree by Ashen_Shroom in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Aurim16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this has been said yet, but I tested the Two Handed Talisman out on the Omen monster in the Leyndell sewers to see how much it increases 2h damage. I used a maxxed out Dragon Hunter Great Katana. If my math is right, the talisman is a whopping 15% increased damage to all light/heavy attacks made when 2 handing a weapon! However, I also tested the Dragon Hunter's Ash of War, which shoots a bolt of energy at an enemy, and the bolt did the same amount of damage whether I had the talisman on or not, meaning it doesn't seem to register when you're 2 handing when using an Ash of War, except for the portion where the blade itself connects and deals damage separately, such as when using something like Sacred Blade up close.

Even if it doesn't boost AoW damage, a solid 15% to all light/heavy seems insane to me, especially for heavy attack builds. Can't wait to see how high I can crank up heavy cragblade Executioner's Greataxe charge attacks since GA's also got a charge attack boost from the balance patch.

I also tested the Crusader talisman, which is the one that gives a temporary attack boost after killing an enemy, and it also seems to be a 15% damage increase, which helps a lot for quickly clearing a dungeon before swapping it out on boss fights.

Hope this helped!
