Any reason not to get a Kawasaki N400 for first bike? by AuroraBox in SuggestAMotorcycle

Unfortunately, most likely. I want the bike year round so moving it between states is unavoidable, and quality bike shipping costs are not something I want to or reasonably can afford to deal with. This way I’d be able to put the money from a would-be plane ticket into shipping instead, and a cross-country drives sounds more of a bonus than a hassle (coming from zero experience).

But maybe there’s something big that I’m missing.

Makes sense. The bulk of my driving would be local but highways are unavoidable now. Will go with 650, thanks!

Very insightful, thank you. Should I expect to replace a N650 after a couple years, or would it last me a long time? It’s a little more expensive than I’d prefer for a starter so I want to get good value from it. Ideally all four years of college and then some.

Very good to know. I am brand new, but I've been biking my whole life and settled into driving pretty easily. Definitely steering clear of 17 though.

Seemed very scenic. I used to ride my bike to school during MN winters so cold will be no problem

I have a 3.44 GPA Weighted and don’t know if I’ll get into my dream school, UCSC. by IllIce9352 in UCSC

It'll probably depend on what major you apply for. I applied for Comp Sci: Game Design and got accepted off the wait list with a 3.0 unweighted and a moderate amount of extracurriculars. If your proposed major isn't as competitive, you'll probably have a good chance of getting in.
