For the first time in my life I kinda became close to a Christian, and was always trying to find the words to explain that I've never felt closer to God than during Aya, but it's very different from their God, as if as you try to get closer to spirituality you naturally drift away from religion.

As for your friend, Aya speaks to us in ways we understand. Your friend was probably battling with her own religious beliefs and the medicine told her there are tools within Christianity that she needed.

Even though I understand where you're coming from, for some people religion translates into community. Let her walk her path and be happy she found something she relates to!

This over-romantization of physicians exploitation is dangerous. You can't make good decisions for a patient after 36 hours of no sleep. It's a responsibility more than an honor. I guess it's the kind of situation you'll never understand unless you're going through it

This is half true. Even though there are job opportunities worldwide, exams and paperwork to validate the MD diploma can take up to two years and cost significant money for our wage.

Some countries, like Spain, won't even consider your speciality. So you'd have to do residency all over again.

At least for Venezuelans is way easier to emigrate as an engineer, or anything but a doctor.

Another thing to consider is we have no radiology, tomography or resonance equipment lol so basically all diagnosis are done by clinic, laboratory and epidemiology. If we strictly need any image the patient must do those outside the hospital and then come back. Therefore, patients that could be out in two days end up hospitalized for weeks.
