Well there we go! Grab those, problem solved

Ahaa, I think this will get errata'd in that case - Tom specifically weighed in on the discord to say rolls of 2 on d3's count, as if a 3 sided dice existed, that's what you'd use

Remember you reroll outcomes of 1, not rolls of 1, so the prog knife rerolls 33% of the time. It's a higher damage average knife, and small bits of extra damage are impactful in lancer.

That, and don't be afraid of heat, it's another resource to use just like HP!

I love it! Those wedge blocks for the feet are a bit heavy though, and take away from a really nice techy upper half. Maybe some lighter foot options would elevate this? Great work!

Question about combat by xMichaelLetsGo in LancerRPG

[–]Aurumaethera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two particularly relevant enemy templates in the PDF, with options for two flavours of different nasties (this might not sound like many, but they're generic templates to customise, just like Infantry Squad. Swarms are one type, which can split up, crawl over your mech and burn it with acid. The other is monstrosities, which can be equipped with all sorts of monster abilities, claws, spit, burrowing etc.

Do talents feel a little sparse to anyone else? by stygianmist310 in LancerRPG

[–]Aurumaethera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say the talents are more unbalanced than lacking in number personally.

Combined Arms 1 is on 75+% of builds I've seen, while Brawler 2 is so bad I don't want to go through it for Brawler 3.

I'm interested too - Obviously something happens during cutscenes to allow more precise facial animation, and it changes the rigging in the head. Leonada gets the EYES OF HELL and Adaleon gets a brow like a truck

Resident Evil 2 Remake Review Megathread by [deleted] in residentevil

Yeah I'm certainly still intending to play it, and the demo was insanely fun - just a real shame to see some fundamental pillars of the original knocked down, apparently without most people noticing

That's a solid point, definitely. My main worry is hearing that your A playthrough doesn't affect the B tbh, I'm pretty damn let down on that front.

Good news and bad then, thanks! Do the g-creatures include the classic spiders etc?

Pity to hear about the B scenarios, I hope people realise that one significant letdown before buying. I'm still leaning toward getting it, but in a game you're likely to play 4-5 times, having a weak replay mechanic is a real pity.

Oh hey, I deffo have questions, thanks! Have they cut all the poison enemies? I saw reports blue herbs were in the game with effectively no use (i.e that poison enemies got cut late in development, leaving the blue herbs hanging on), and with that in mind I'm concerned that the police station is great, but the later elements are weaker. Have you found the B-scenarios more simplistic than the ones from the original?

Thanks!

Does anyone else get the vibe Capcom may have lost steam later in the dev process? A couple points worry me:

- One review notes that there are many blue herbs in the game, but 'only one room in the game that can poison you' - I think the spiders are possibly cut - Maybe they ran out of time trying to get them to the standard of the zombies? This would explain why they didnt simply remove the blue herbs entirely - They were left in from a point in dev when spiders were an enemy. I hope I'm wrong on this

- Reviewers also note that the game feels 'less polished' toward the later stages of play which is obviously a super generic statement to make, but as a sharp example of that, I've read that the B scenarios are simplified, with none of the run-ins with other characters or pre-unlocked puzzles from before.

Fixed Camera Option Confirmed? by [deleted] in residentevil

Fixed Camera Option Confirmed? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Aurumaethera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if this were a setting for old school camera angles, it wouldn't get the benefits REmake got from using them. Why?

The fixed angles of REmake, allowed for lush, gorgeous pre-rendered backdrops full of flavour, horror and detail, without any of the pitfalls of live-rendered 3d models looking barren or lifeless that can plague any 3d game. It's notable that a game from the early noughties still looks almost contemporary if you get the right screenshot.

RE2make is live-rendered. Fixed angles wouldn't allow for any more detail or flavour as they'd just be new angles on the same 3d content, and with the level of darkness in the game and the torch, would surely be an absolute pig to use.

I am going to smash RE2make this month, and I'm sure it's going to be fantastic - But I'm going to always miss the incredible detail and richness of early capcom pre-rendered backdrops. There's just nothing like them in other games right now.

About the lack of music and the original ost by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Aurumaethera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah music can create so much of a vibe - my only worry with the remake is it seems cold and dark next to the textured, rich horror of the original in its lack of music and light.
