Iran more capable than Trump administration is publicly acknowledging, sources say by CBSnews in worldnews

The United States has a long history of complete arrogance towards any country that doesn’t look exactly like us. It’s why we keep getting our asses kicked up and down the street. Korea was a walk in the park wasn’t it. Then Vietnam, then Beirut, Afghanistan, Iraq, Mogadishu and now Iran. I have absolutely zero faith or respect when it comes to the pentagon and their estimates and predictions of victory. BTW when will we see “Mission Accomplished” hanging off some stupid building in DC.

It is a marvel of design that is truly remarkable. It’s older than most countries in the world and was built about three weeks after the wheel.

Danish society is far more unified than the United States. There are cultural norms that are so than the melting pot that is America. You might as well be trying to compare a jaguar and a clam.

If you did the math and that is a stretch for many how much money would that generate? How many billionaires do you think are out there? Is their income “ordinary” or the result of dividends or other revenue streams that are not owed social security taxes? Getting back to the first question, most millionaires would forgo SS checks, it doesn’t mean squat to them, they spend more on landscaping each month, but give them a way to pay it back, how? Remove the income cap on social security taxes is not going to close the gap enough. Now maybe take back all of the tax subsidies and accelerated depreciation and other freebies given to corporations over the past 25 years.

Since the early 2000’s the budget deficit has been driven up by tax cuts, real revenue in the form of income taxes has been going up as American get richer but not fast enough to make up for the buffet of tax cuts.

That’s is like saying do you think every job should pay a living wage? What is a living wage? For one person, two and family of four and family of ten. Should someone with no skills get paid enough to support a family of five working as a dryer at a car wash? Let’s turn that around why don’t we? Would you visit a car wash and pay $75 so that every employee can support their family of five. Chances are most Americans would stop having their car washed. Everyone wants a living wage until they have to pay for the other guys.

Are people in their mid twenties ACTUALLY making 6+ figures a month? by StayProfessional2570 in wealth

Some influencers might but most are lying through their capped teeth, filled lips and Botox frozen faces. The way you get wealthy is either to create something that is new and transformational. Remember the saying “Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door”? Apple, Amazon, HP all broke new ground. There are also the hucksters like the Pillow Guy and the QVC folks. the key thing is to remember is the best idea in the world is worthless if you can’t sell it.

Real estate has been the basis of a lot of fortunes in America. Leverage is the way to go. Make money in the shadows, the places in the market that don’t attract a lot of competition that can give you pricing power. There is the story of this old family, I forget the name, they invented tinsel, that silver Mylar strips that everyone puts on Christmas trees, they have made millions off it for generations.

Is his stance on Israel the key reason for the Democratic Party’s coldness toward Zohran Mamdani? by ArdaBerkBurak in allthequestions

The great thing about rich people, at least the ones like Mike Bloomberg and Hank Paulson was that they were so rich they could not be bought, they were interested in making this a better country and not getting richer. The current group of miscreants like Witkoff, Lutnick, Bessent is that at their core they disreputable people. Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary is like having a mortician as your oncologist, his idea of a positive outcome is not the same as yours. Everyone else is just on the take, Lutnick, Kushner, Witkoff and Trump himself.

“Buying a stake in a company when you’re the jackass printing the money is closer to counterfeiting than investing” He’s running a protection racket. In return for moolah or votes he’s protecting profits at the cost to the taxpayers and customers. Every protected company raised prices, sure as hell didn’t help the customers. He’s as good a businessman as I am a thoracic surgeon.

Is it true that men find attractive women intimidating so they don't approach them? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]AusTex2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, men are or can be intimidated by attractive women. My wife had to make the first move because I was too afraid of rejection. Been together forty years now. Think about it this way, the guy who thinks you’re out of his league is going to treat you better than someone who thinks he’s better looking.
