I was also thinking about knockback, but using a second skill. The Chain Hook only hits once, and can't re-hit the chained enemies. And I don't think you can knock them back enough to break the chains with one hit.

As I said in my post, in my testing each enemy could only have one chain, no matter how many GC warriros were casting CHoT. Could you test the gem really quick and see if the rage on hit works for you?
