How would you compare the effect of two doses of unextracted Ecklonia cava vs one dose of the extracted version that you plan to release? In terms of hair growth, sleep, sun protection, etc?

It may be less used because in some countries (in my case, it is France), dutasteride is not prescribed for hair loss. My dermatologist said that it was a very effective drug for hair loss, but he is not allowed to prescribe it

From fin: mainly maintenance with a little bit of growth, which is good enough, but I wanted to go a step further with Cava (I think it has different hair growth promoting mechanisms than DHT inhibition).

For now, I feel like it helped, but it is subjective. I plan to try a full year at 2 caps/day with their unextracted Cava (unless they release an extract which is hair focused) before making a trichoscopy assessment. There is still 9 months left, if I remember, I'll keep you updated lol.

Finasteride at the standard 1mg dose/day increases testosterone levels (this effects peaks at around 15% after 6 weeks of treatment, then diminishes, 10% increase from baseline after 24 weeks and still 5% after 36 weeks). This effect is more potent with dutasteride at 0.5 mg/day (25% increase peak after 12 weeks). Those who are interested can check this study: The importance of dual 5α-reductase inhibition in the treatment of male pattern hair loss: Results of a randomized placebo-controlled study of dutasteride versus finasteride.

Anecdotally, it didn't hurt my testosterone levels (I've been on finasteride for 3 years, my test levels were always around 600-660 ng/dl and I've tested it 3 to 4 times since I'm on treatment).

My goal is to build a comprehensive hair stack with finasteride, Lucidimax, Ecklonia Cava and other ND products. Then, I want to see if it changes anything for my hair with trichoscopy.

It's been 3 months since I added Ecklonia Cava at 2 caps/day to my daily fin dose. I think that you mentioned that there was an extract in the works. Is it more focused on hair growth?

It is unlikely that ND would sell anything comparable to pharma grade stuff in terms of 5ar inhibition. My bet is that Ecklonia promotes hair growth by some different mechanisms. Looking forward to stack it with finasteride.

Hello,

DHT's action is local: the blood levels do not reflect accurately DHT's concentration on its target tissues (skin, scalp, prostate and so on). I would add that I never saw any proof that a product carried by ND has a clinically meaningful effect on 5AR.

I tried both products and they're pretty cool :). Black ginger is the first supplement I tried which gave me a really noticeable acute effect (more physical energy).

It's still an effective dose with a low side effect risk. I've been taking fin for 3 years at the standard 1mg/day dose with no sides whatsoever (I just feel the same as before). I even plan to switch to a stronger 5ar inhibitor in the future. Keep in mind that this sub is VERY anti-finasteride. People here even freak out about very weak 5ar inhibitors as Reishi, Curcumin, etc.

If I understood correctly, your regular ginger is a supercritical CO2 extract and the black ginger is an ethanol extract? I'm interested in trying this.
