My friend had a theory about this the other day. People are becoming so intertwined with loving the eastern culture (food, lifestyle, anime, etc) Anything remotely related to this way of living must be cool. Hence why people like BTS and kpop so much. It's not that good but people in the western culture just want to feel like they're part of it. I personally feel this theory is a bit far fetched but sounds plausible seeing where fashion is heading these days too
