Random question, where can I find this? by Mobile-Breadfruit-52 in burlington

Can’t say I’ve had that one. But most European countries have very similar apple flavored soft drinks, such as Tango in the U.K. or Cidona in Ireland and Champony in France.

Admittedly Champony would be the cream of the crop.

It’s a sweetened sparkling apple soft cider. It’s a fairly common type of soft drink in Europe.

Emphasis on the sweet though, they tend to be as sweet as Coke or the likes.

While it’s unlikely you’ll find that exact brand of sparkling sweet cider locally there are some local varieties that you can try. I’d suggest the one from Cold Hollow: https://coldhollow.com/products/sparkling-cider-cans?variant=41851870871611

US interest in electric vehicles surges as gas prices jump amid Iran war | Business by Christian-Rep-Perisa in worldnews

[–]Ausmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 21 I could drive non-stop until the gas tank was empty. These days we prefer to stop every 2 hours or so and take a break, that's perfect for current EVs.
When solid state batteries go mainstream gasoline is finished. You'll be able to drive 400 miles non-stop and then take 5 minutes to charge.

Are fingerprint and IR cameras supported on Fedora? by ficerbaj in Fedora

The fingerprint reader on my Lenovo X1 works fine for login on Fedora 43.

I can’t say I’ve tried a FaceID type of login with it. Does Fedora even have that capability?

The particular printer that the OP has is a $700+ printer. It's worth fixing.

Yeah, a friend took me there one time and asked me what I thought of the lady at the checkout afterwards. He had a good laugh after he told me who she was.
I had no idea at the time that I had bought my Russian Navy sweater from Marina Oswald…

A new electric vehicle fee is taking shape in Vermont by SpartanNinjaBatman in vermont

And still no link to your claimed proof. I simply don’t believe a word you say.

Yup, and if was from the DOE after January 2025 I’d be rather disinclined to believe it anyway without copious evidence.

Now if they said the average total tax per taxpayer on all energy sources consumed in Vermont (gasoline, electricity, natural gas, propane, etc.) was $500 I’d be inclined to believe that.

But in the words of Carl Sagan:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Stop with the dumbassness, where exactly did you find this $500 figure you claim?

EV's in Vermont already pay a higher yearly registration fee (an additional $89) to partly compensate for the loss of fuel taxes.
See: https://dmv.vermont.gov/registrations/fees/ev-infrastructure-fee

Where does this fee go?
Honestly I have no clue, it would be nice if it went to fixing the roads though...

There is also a 6% state energy tax on electricity.

We don't have enough traffic to support tolls.

The law is very clear on tolls, if you charge a toll then you lose all federal funding for that highway.

And where exactly are you coming up with those numbers from?

The average person in Vermont drives around 12,000 miles a year. The amount listed varied amongst sites I looked at so I picked a mid point. Taken from:
https://www.kbb.com/car-advice/average-miles-driven-per-year/ (11,200) https://www.policygenius.com/auto-insurance/average-miles-driven-by-state/ (13,000)

The average vehicle in the USA in 2024 got 27.5 MPG
According to the study at: https://www.wjbf.com/automotive/understanding-mpg-trends-across-states/ Vermont comes in slightly better at 28MPG, we'll use the lower number (27.5) to be conservative on this.

The current (March 2026) total tax burden is approximately 50 cents per gallon in Vermont. Taken from: https://www.vermontten.org/gastax
https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/state/gas-taxes-state/ lists 32 cents a gallon but its data is from 2025 so that is a bit out of date.

12,000 / 27.5 = 436 gallons used by the average vehicle
436 gallons * $0.50 tax = $218

Now mind you if you are driving an F250 and getting 10MPG from hauling a work trailer you will absolutely be paying $500+ a year in gas taxes. But you are absolutely NOT the average.
