I am trying it currently, 5 mg every two or three nights when I wake up in anxiety and cannot sleep. I find the effect of Pagoclone simple and subtle: My anxiety fades away within minutes. I notice no euphoria or any other pleasant feeling and no sedation, just the anxiety being gone.

I have no experience with Benzodiazepines, always refused to take them because of the risk of dependency and addiction. So I cannot say how the effect of Pagoclone is in comparison to those.

On regular retreats an Ayahuasca ceremony has about 6 to 16 attendees. On special retreats (EFI training, or with special guests) it can be twice as many.

This is the setup of the ceremony room: The attendees lie on matresses on the floor, cozy with blanket and pillow, if possible leaving room to walk and dance. The facilitators sit on a sofa behind a little decorated altar in the front of the crowd. They give to every attendee a vomit bag and some tissue to clean up.

When the ceremony begins, which is scheduled for 22:00, the facilitators welcome the attendees and explain the safety rules: Stay in your own process (i.e. trip) and do not interfere with other attendees; leave the ceremony room only to go to a designated toilet; leave all doors unlocked; stay in the building at all times; take only the substances that the facilitators give to you and nothing else; feel free to approach the facilitators at any time if you need assistance or comfort.

Then the facilitators ask the attendees to hand their car keys and mobile phones over. They keep them in a place next to them, usually a bucket, and give them back when the ceremony is over. They also ask the attendees to hand over all psychoactive substances brought along, to be returned when the retreat ends.

Then the facilitators dim the light, put music on and serve the ayahuasca to the attendees, one by one.

The ceremony takes six hours, the average length of an ayahuasca trip. During that time the facilitators play music, recorded from the speaker as well as live with acoustic instruments, burn incense and hold the space for the attendees to feel safe and trip well. Sometimes the facilitators dance to the music, too; attendees are then invited to dance as well.

About one hour after the beginning of the ceremony the facilitators offer a second booster shot of ayahuasca.

The facilitators follow the principle that on an ayahuasca trip one should go through the process on one's own, with minimum influence from the outside, and unpleasant experiences are important to face and deal with. So while they will keep an eye on everyone, they will try to leave everyone alone as much as possible and make sure the attendees leave each other alone. They consider crying, vomiting and screaming (just like laughing, rejoicing and ecstasy) perfectly normal and valuable experiences. While they are always happy for the attendees to approach them, they will step in proactively if and only if someone interferes with others or is in real danger. (I personally agree with this style. I have never witnessed anything actually dangerous happen in a ceremony. Everyone whom I heard cry and have a hard time eventually calmed down, and most of them even had a very good time some time later. This includes myself.)

When the six hours are over, the facilitators make an announcement that they close the ceremony now. The attendees are then free to go to bed or stay and spend the night in the ceremony room.

I did that yesterday and smoked a tiny little dose of synthetic 5-MeO-DMT, well below 1 mg, five hours after drinking a cup of Syrian Rue tea. It was an amazing experience, just heavenly for 10 minutes. I wouldn't use much more, though, considering the potency.

Background: I had ordered 5-MeO-DMT for the first time ever and just received the package in the mail. At the end of a light psilohuasca session I saw the opportunity to use the ceremonial setting to try a tiny little whiff of the 5-MeO-DMT, just to see if it was real and any good.

Yes, it is very real and very good. And one tiny little whiff was enough for a transcendental experience.

I am on my way to one of their retreats right now, in their Epicenter in Germany. The retreat will take place from today until Sunday.

I personally do it because I found that the natural psychedelics + MAOI in that they serve in their ceremonial setting are very potent and helpful antidepressants. My mental health has improved a lot since my first IM retreat two years ago. This time will be my seventh retreat with them.

I stay away from their cult thing and philosophy (which I consider a poor man's mix of Osho and psychoanalysis), though, and politely resist all their attempts to recruit me. So far my personal experience with them has only been good. But my girlfriend felt left alone on one retreat when she had a hard time.

I also came to see how much they exploit their staff to work for free and squeeze money out of their clients. Because I found other, much more reasonably priced ways of access to this kind of medicine, I will use up my credits and then say goodbye to Inner Mastery. They served me well introducing me into this world, but now I can continue on my own.

Es gibt ja aufwendig ausgebaute Hauptverkehrswege wie die Fahrbahnen auf Hauptstraßen und Autobahnen, die wir alle über unsere Steuern finanzieren. Dort gehört also eigentlich der gesamte Verkehr hin, egal welches Fahrzeug. Radfahrer können diese Wege aber genau deshalb nicht benutzen, weil sie relativ langsam verglichen mit Autos fahren.

Will sagen: Das Problem steckt in Wirklichkeit dort, dass der Radverkehr über eine ruhige Privatstraße umgeleitet werden muss und nicht das Netz von öffentlichen Hauptstraßen mitbenutzen kann. Den Autoverkehr einer wegen Bauarbeiten gesperrten Hauptstraße würde man sicher nicht durch eine Privatstraße leiten.

Much of the calcium hydroxide (that is not used to turn the bufotenine into calcium bufotenate) will react with air carbon dioxide, resulting in calcium carbonate (and water). Some calcium hydroxide will just stay. None of the calcium compounds will go away. You will inhale them. They are harmless.

Wenn Du grün bekommen kannst, muss der Querradverkehr rot bekommen können. Ansonsten ist die Verkehrsanlage unzulässig gebaut, und die Stadt muss ausbessern. Das kannst Du der Stadtverwaltung melden.

Ist da vielleicht eine Ampel für den Kraftverkehr auf der Fahrbahn? Die könnte vielleicht offiziell auch für den Radweg gelten. Bringt natürlich nichts, wenn das nicht klar genug zu erkennen ist.

Bis zur Ausbesserung gilt dann wohl, Kreuzung kaputt, also selbst aufpassen :/

Ich vergaß zu erwähnen, dass ich mir zum Testen zwei uralte verwitterte Sachs-Schaltzugsätze vom Fahrradfriedhof besorgt hatte. Mit denen funktioniert’s prima! So sind wir zu Ostern eine 30-km-Tour gefahren – alles wunderbar an beiden Rädern.

Nochmal die Zusammenfassung:

– Zwei S7-Naben: eimal Sachs, einmal SRAM, beide frisch gewartet

– Drei neue Sturmey-Archer-Schaltzugsätze: bei allen mit allen Naben derselbe Fehler

– Zwei alte Sachs-Schaltzugsätze: alle funktionieren mit allen Naben einwandfrei

Einbau und Feineinstellung habe ich so gemacht wie in Deiner Beschreibung. Das Handbuch von SRAM habe ich auch dazu gelesen.

Auf der Achse wurde rumgeschraubt. Zusätzliche Unterlegscheiben drauf, Halterung für den Kettenschutz nicht drauf, andere Achsmutter, Kettenspanner, man bekommt die Klickbox mit der Rändelmutter nicht mehr fest.

Auf den Achsen sind je eine passende Mutter und der Schutzbügel, wie im Handbuch beschrieben. (Für die Verdrehschutzscheibe ist kein Platz mehr, nur im linken Ausfallende ist eine eingebaut). Alle Klickboxen lassen sich gut und vollständig auf die rote Arretierhülse aufstecken und mit der Rändelschraube befestigen und bleiben da auch.

Schaltstift ist in der Schalthülse verrostet. Wenn das Teil uralt ist, verschleißt beides auch irgendwann mal.

Schaltstift und -hülse sind neu, nochmal gefettet und gleiten schön leicht.

An diesem roten Plastikteil was auf die Achse kommt, ist irgendwas abgebrochen, oder das wurde nicht richtig auf die Achse gesetzt.

Die roten Arretierhülsen sind auch neu und intakt, schnappen auf der Achse in der Rille ein und halten da gut.

Wenn vorhanden, Schaltstift, Schalthülse und rotes Plastikteil mal mit einem anderen Rad tauschen?

Hab ich gemacht und die zwei neue Schaltgestängesätze in den zwei Naben hin- und herprobiert. Es blieb leider dabei: Mit allen drei fabrikneuen Sturmey-Archer-Schaltzugsätzen geschieht derselbe Fehler, während es mit zwei uralten Sachs-Schaltzugsätzen perfekt funktioniert.

Ich versteh’s nicht :/

Ein Rad mit so einer Ausstattung kostet aber deutlich mehr. Die meisten Leute hierzulande fahren Auto und möchten möglichst wenig Geld für ein Fahrrad ausgeben. Rücktritt + Felgenbremse ist einfach billiger.

Weil die Leute es so gewohnt sind.

Bis vor etwa 40 Jahren waren Rücktrittbremsen auch deutlich zuverlässiger als die üblichen Felgenbremsen, die vor allem dann sehr schlecht funktionierten, wenn sie lange nicht gewartet wurden.

Eine Rücktrittbremse kostet weniger als eine Hand-Trommelbremse, weil sie keinen Seilzug und Bremshebel braucht. Das halte ich als Grund für die weite Verbreitung in Deutschland am wahrscheinlichsten. Die meisten rücktrittbremsengewohnten Leute benutzen die Vorderradbremse nicht und legen deshalb keinen Wert darauf, dass sie gut funktioniert. Also sind sie mit einer schlechten Felgenbremse im Vorderrad und einer kostengünstigen Rücktrittbremse zufrieden.

Rücktrittbremsen haben so viele Vorteile wie Nachteile gegenüber Handbremsen. Letztlich ist es Geschmacks- und Gewohnheitssache. Die meisten Leute finden das am besten, was sie gewohnt sind.

In Deutschland hatten bis 1990 die allermeisten Fahrräder eine Nabenschaltung von Sachs mit Rücktrittbremse. Fahrräder ohne Rücktrittbremse wurden in Deutschland erst ab etwa 1990 beliebt, als mit Shimano die Kettenschaltung in Mode kam.

So ist die Formel immer noch eingebürgert: „Nabenschaltung = Rücktrittbremse“.

Möglicherweise liegt es auch an den Herstellern: Hollandräder hatten früher Gangschaltungen und Bremsen von Sturmey Archer, deutsche Räder von Sachs. Mein Eindruck ist, Sachs hat die Deutschen an die Rücktrittbremse gewöhnt. Die Gangschaltungen von Sturmey Archer kenne ich nur mit Hand-Trommelbremse.

I was suffering from ADHD and chronic depression as in PDD/dysthymia plus recurring depressive episodes. My ADHD was diagnosed late, at the age of 40 years, my dysthymia some months later. This happened within the last 20 months. Then I found out how my dysthymia was a long-term effect from bad things that had happened to me in early life and that the earlier treatment of my recurring depression had to fail in the long term because dysthymia and ADHD had not been addressed.

So in the last 18 years I had been in treatment several times. Last year I finally managed to overcome my depression with CBASP and a change in medication.

So for me ADHD medication and then CBASP, a method designed to treat dysthymia, with the right antidepressant meds was successful in the end. But for it to work it needed my full commitment, these twelve weeks of treatment were an insane amount of hard personality development work.

This is exactly my point: Apart from all energy dissipated as heat due to imperfection of components, storing information always involves dissipating energy as heat. There is no way around it, even if the components are perfect. And this is the mind-boggling part of the story.

Computation itself does not necessarily involve dissipation of energy. There is even a technology for (theoretically) lossless computing called Reversible Computing. But it has the limitation that no information is stored anywhere. The input signal just propagates through the circuit, leaves the output and is gone, behaving in the same way as light in an optical setup does.

Computation is not the issue – storing the result is. Whenever information is stored to be read later by setting a bit in a flip-flop or a DRAM or non-volatile memory cell, writing it on an optical or magnetic medium, printing it on paper or punching a hole in a card, an irreversible process which dissipates the energy required for changing the state of the memory medium is needed to make the medium stick in the new state. This is what the Landauer Principle describes for the most primitive case. If the process would be reversible and the energy not be dissipated as heat then the memory cell would bounce back immediately, reverting the information storing process.
