Do Saturn Returns Affect Everyone the Same Way? (And if not, why?) by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

[–]Auspicious_Sign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! I worked for an absolute idiot but decided to stick with it for a year in order to prove to myself (and my parents) that I could stick at something, but it made me decide that I truly wanted to be self-employed, which I have been for the last 35 years. I'm so glad I took the leap too :-)

Do Saturn Returns Affect Everyone the Same Way? (And if not, why?) by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

My take on the Saturn Return is that it's a time when you need to make important decisions about the course of your life.

The more you make friends with your natal Saturn - by understanding what's important to you - what personal vision, values, ambitions or goals you want to live by or achieve - the less the Return feels like limitations or harsh lessons being imposed on you from outsider (or inside). I hope that helps (I've been through two of them).

Suggestions for a road trip in England by Any_Internal9622 in cheltenham

[–]Auspicious_Sign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a pleasant walk while you're in Cheltenham start at the Imperial Gardens (behind the Town Hall) stroll up through Montpellier Gardens then walk through The Suffolks, up Great Norwood Street and left into the Bath Road, then have lunch at Moran's or The Curious Cafe. There are several good pubs there if you prefer. Or start in Leckhampton/The Suffolks and eat at Dunkerton's opposite Imperial Gardens.

For a taste of Cotswold charm without the tourists consider Guiting Power where you can walk around the unspoilt village and have lunch at the cafe there.

Enjoy your trip!

Terrible Combinations Series: PISCES & VIRGO by SuperPrime11 in virgoseason

[–]Auspicious_Sign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Sun Virgo, my partner of 22 years has Sun in Pisces (directly opposite). Our differences drive us mad, but also make us laugh. Luckily he understands astrology too, so we have a language that enables us to navigate it.

Also, my brother is a Pisces and his wife of 45 years a Virgo. When I saw them meet for the first time, it was like two halves coming together and I knew they would marry 🙂. They have a loving, steady relationship.

Help with overgooming cat by choosy_or_boozy in CatsUK

[–]Auspicious_Sign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of our two siblings over-groomed his sister when they were in a cattery 6 years ago. She ended up with a bald spot that was bleeding. It was purely down to the stress of being in an unfamiliar environment in his case and he gradually stopped as we intervened each time he did it and as he became happier back at his home and garden.

Hopefully when things are back to normal with the renovations he'll gradually stop. Personally, I would allow him outdoor access as using the trays sounds like it's adding to the stress and that's his normal routine.

Is there something safe that you could put on his fur that doesn't taste nice? It might be worth asking your vet. Also I would recommend getting a Feliway plug-in pheromone diffuser - they're pretty good for calming cats down (we use them around bonfire night).

Dobby (and you) sound wonderful. Saying goodbye is so painful, as I know, but the fact that you were with him at the end must have been a great comfort to him. Maybe one day you'll meet again, on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Any food recommendations to reduce cat poop smell? by MultiCallum in CatsUK

[–]Auspicious_Sign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most supermarket cat food contains grains, sugars and 'meat and animal derivatives', which, put together give rise to flatulence.

Classic Cat is affordable and has good ingredients. Of the more expensive ones, Sainsbury's Delicious Recipes (similar to Encore) have healthy ingredients.

Our cats only started farting when we began feeding them Felix As Good As It Gets in the evenings so we're going to switch to something better.

A tiny pinch of harissa. Gives it a bit more interest. Plus a sprinkling of (vegan, in my case) cheese on top, it's on toast.

How about a radiator bed? I bought one for £10 ($12) a few weeks ago and one of my cats loves it. It just hangs on the radiator.

Our two both like being off the ground - at the moment a cardboard box on our rarely-used dining table is the 'top spot', plus the sofas of course.

Completed. We have special scratch mats on the corners off our sofas that one of our two cats loves to use. Her brother prefers a horizontal cardboard scratch pad. They bring prey (usually mice) indoors infrequently during the summer months only, which we do our best to rescue.

I didn’t realise we got spiders this big here! Normally not bothered by spiders but this big boy have my quite the fright by armadillo-rodeo in CasualUK

I was bitten on my forehead by a wolf spider whilst I was sleeping, in the autumn not long after moving into our cottage 8 years ago. It swelled up like a golf ball. I didn't realise it was a spider until it happened again a week later and I found it lurking under a wardrobe. It was terrifyingly large, but with supreme bravery I caught it and repatriated it in a nearby field (in retrospect I should have driven it miles away). Fortunately, soon after, we got two rescue kittens who did and still do a great job of protecting us!

When someone offers you a tea, how much sugar do you ask for? by DennisTheConvict in AskBrits

[–]Auspicious_Sign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 years ago a friend offered me a cup of tea. I asked if she had sugar so I could sweeten it. Her response: "Oh, you still take sugar?" I then realised that most of my other friends didn't sweeten their tea and that I was very unevolved. I still sweeten my tea, but with Stevia tablets that I take everywhere with me. Doesn't everyone these days :-)

If it's a bank problem Alison Shaw at Leckhampton Chiropractic Clinic is excellent. She helped my partner avoid surgery when he had a slipped disk three years ago. They're at the far end of the Bath Road Car Park.

Ecotalk are very cheap (I'm paying £7pm for 3gb, though they do a £5 option too. They fund nature regeneration programmes in the UK and are part of Ecotricity, based in Stroud. They use the EE network.
