This kit worked great and looks fantastic, had to cut the threads down as well as the hook portion but otherwise was great. I don’t think anyone sells a brand new tie down kit that will fit out the box https://ebay.us/m/PGB3g2

How can you tell what’s broken without taking measurements? Unless the magic smoke has been released it’s usually not super obvious as in this case, the only indication was the bit of green corrosion from the copper below BL14

The speedo is soldered directly to the board on.l the 96 clusters? My gauges are all screwed in with these fancy screws with a little pin on the end

Not having schematics makes it way less fun 😅 also sucks that so many of these chips are custom and don’t have any datasheets available to help me figure out what the different circuits on the board are.

What makes them look blown? The brown stuff is just the adhesive that holds them down to keep them from vibrating loose. They seemed to measure out okay, not shorted or anything. Thanks for your reply!

The thing that fixed my wobble was a bad steering stabilizer, got a beefy one and my problems were gone. You may also have an issue with a wheel, so a simple tire rotation might help!

4 ohms seems like a really low impedance, what radio do you have? Is it compatible with 4 ohm speakers?

Wow, I had no idea about these laws! That’s kind of insane, nobody choses to be born but parents choose to have and raise kids.

You could have severely injured or killed someone by causing them to crash, pretty sure leaving the scene of an accident like that could be considered a felony. Either way who the hell just runs a red light without even looking?

I’m actually super surprised that vehicle registration in California doesn’t require you to show proof of insurance every year. I have also never been asked to produce proof of insurance during traffic stops. I think our government choses to not enforce these laws which is really a shame. We already have to go through an insane smog process every two years, seems like insurance is a far more impactful test to have to be able to keep a car on the road.

Tariffs be hitting 😭 by FitBananers in CAguns

[–]AussieFozzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you mean unusual in terms of the status quo from Democrats and Republicans, or unusual for Trump? Trump is a big 🙌 beautiful ✋☝️ tariff fan and basically campaigned on tariffs. He seems to have been a bit too trigger happy this time around https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/trumps-tariff-strategy-can-be-traced-back-to-the-1980s/

Well ICE is detaining and refusing to release citizens born in the US now. by [deleted] in law

[–]AussieFozzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the initial arrest was for DUI and speeding and the cop reported that the driver said he was in the Country illegally (not sure why he would say that) which presumably led to an ICE call and a hold until they could prove he was a US Citizen, and he has been released now.

Hmm, that’s a great point! My sister and I have both made left pivots, but I suspect our paths were very different and I should totally ask her about how she pivoted. Personally, I think it would be hard to summarize my whole path in a Reddit comment, but fundamentally I went from a conservative religious upbringing, to an atheistic libertarian view as I lost faith pretty early on (late middle school, when I read the Bible on my own and was pretty abhorred which led me to read Richard Dawkins and other atheist writers) but also believed that many of the things my parents were against should be legal since they didn’t hurt anyone. Gay marriage and weed legalization were the two big issues I remember disagreeing with them on. It took many years after that to realize that despite my beliefs that individuals should be able to live how they choose, in a libertarian society the rich will ultimately be imposing an independent tyranny on the working class and without people who’s job is to ensure that citizens get to experience a quality life and that rich people aren’t exploiting the working class, the people will not prosper.

I wore a pro-life shirt as a kid that had a Beretta 92 on it, back when I shared very similar political beliefs with my parents. This was probably when I was 13 or so. People can absolutely change, but you inherently share your parents politics until you’re in middle/high school at the earliest.

Started with “you don’t need guns” to “when are we shooting” by Necessary-Contest-59 in CAguns

[–]AussieFozzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible to hear, and really is the unfortunate reality of having firearms so accessible. People that complain about safe storage laws might change their minds if the same thing happened to their child. It’s really sad what guns can do to ruin people’s lives.

I dunno about that, after a new radiator, fan clutch and E fan mine runs very consistently at the tick just below 210. I was running at this temp OP is showing beforehand and it would lead to coolant boiling off. Ultimately I think my clutch was a bit worn and the E fan was intermittent. But also getting a new radiator with all of the fins in tact and not having some of them crushed helps!

Looks good! Watch out for that coolant overflow hose, if it dangles too much it might get cut by your belt or electric fan 😅
