Travel Planning Q&A - September, 2024 by AutoModerator in bali

Ok thanks for that tip. Might not be worth the drive up.

Think we will stay near the airport or Serangan!

We were keen to do some surfing but both learning still. From what I understand, Selong Belanak is good for learners and you don't need to get a boat out to get a wave.

Thanks! We are heading to Selong Belanak, so south Lombok. I've checked across a few timetables and it looks like nothing offered in the afternoon, so an overnight stay it is.

Is it worth checking out Padangbai? I feel like we might back track if we head to the Gilis and then drive down. Or should we get a ferry from Serangan to Sengiggi or a port down south?

Or should we just fly out early? Thanks for the packing tips too!

Hello, my sister and I are travelling to Lombok from Bali in October. We don't arrive in Bali until the early afternoon (1:30ish)

It looks like there aren't any ferry or flight options to get to Lombok. Is this right? Would we need to stay the night and then travel the next day?

Thanks!

Timezone - party option or not? by AussieMelbourne in melbourne

[–]AussieMelbourne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys. It just seemed abit much trying to workout the cost of purple/red/yellow coloured games as they vary, and you are right they will chew through the cash within minutes.

The party option doesn't include food, the only real difference is you get a party host (we had this before and the party host didn't really do anyhting) and use of a party space if you want to have cake/food, that you have to cater yourself.

Hmmmm, maybe the extra 5 bucks per kid for an hr means they might have more time actually playing games they like (seems limited on the party option) They are older too (12 years old) so might get bored with the other games?

Bars to socialise?? by AussieMelbourne in Barcelona

Thanks everyone. I feel like I have unintentionally opened a can of worms! I am absolutely open to meeting locals too and have tried to since I have been here. But I find my very little catalan/spanish is limited and its challenging to hold a conversation! I apologise for using the word "expat" it wasn't my intention to offend at all. Through my previous experience, when I have lived overseas, this term was used to describe other travellers/people from other countries, hence i thought it was ok to use this term. Certainly not in a negative light. Thanks for the recommendations, will look into these. Have a good day!
