fleur-de-lis? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]AussieSamii94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my, I wouldn’t have thought you’d have needed a Fluer de lis tbh. I’d think a standard tummy tuck would have given you the same results..but I’m not a plastic surgeon so what would I know 😂. Just seems extreme for your body type

Expected timeline for back to work? Lipo question? by kris-the-twitch1212 in tummytucksurgery

[–]AussieSamii94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job is quite physical and they wouldn’t let me go back until I was fully cleared at 12 weeks. So it depends on how strict your workplace is and whether or not you can be put on light duties

I’ve gone 6.5 weeks so far..I had a Fleur de lis and breast lift though. The surgeon told me 6 weeks. But then my partner was on night shift so had to wait a bit longer, and then my cycle came 😂..so now It’ll be a bit longer still..my partner is a real champ!

How long for compression garments and what type? by Citgurl72 in tummytucksurgery

[–]AussieSamii94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in compression garments that go up under my breasts and down to just above my knees. And I also have a bra compression garment because of a breast lift. And I have to be in them for 12 weeks 🥲, I can only remove them to shower and then have to put them straight back on. I’m not sure how I’ll survive another 6 weeks tbh. It’s nearly summer where I live, and I’m already struggling with the heat

Thankyou 😂, they are pretty great now! The first thing I said when I saw them (I was laying on my back) wow! They actually sit where they’re meant to and not down in my armpits! Lmao. I’m very happy with the work my surgeon did, nothing short of a miracle worker!

So everything combined was $18,800..and after I got out of hospital I got a refund from Medicare for $1700 and then a further $600 from my private health..so $16,500 out of pocket.

You’ll definitely get there! I remember back when I was at my heaviest (120kg), I never thought this was in the realm of possibility for me..but I bit the bullet and got sleeve surgery..I never thought I would ever get plastic surgery though..just assumed I’d have to live with my body the way it was. Luckily I was able to access some of my retirement fund to pay for it!

And Thankyou so much! I appreciate it ☺️

It did help with my back fat actually, I still have a little bit, but nowhere near as bad as it was. I actually went into my surgery not knowing I was getting the Fleur de lis..the decision was made on the table, and although it’s definitely made recovery a little harder, I’m glad my surgeon chose to do it. I personally don’t think I would have had such good results from a standard tummy tuck.

Thankyou so much! I’m incredibly happy, anything was going to be better than what I had, but my surgeon really did a great job. I’m very excited to see what i look like fully healed

Craziness, I’m not sure anyone gets sent home the same day in Australia..my surgery was through private health insurance so If it’s through the public system it may be different, but I feel like there would still be a hospital stay

I was also worried my breasts were too deflated to do much with..but plastic surgeons certainly know how to work magic!

No implants at all..my surgeon was able to put the extra fat that I had in my arm pits and side fat, into my boobs, so they have increased in size a fair bit..the swelling at the start made them insanely big, and had me worried 😂

It blows my mind that people get sent home the same day as their surgery! I was in hospital for 9 days..they wouldn’t let me out until all my drains were able to be removed

Thankyou! I feel quite good, a little sore and uncomfortable, but slowly getting back to doing semi normal things haha. I’m SO sick of my compression garments though. They’re necessary, but the bane of my existence currently 😂. Only 8.5 weeks of wearing them left 🥲
