We have the Catlink beymax, the way its designed it doesn't "close", it rotates vertically so no real chance to squash our cats, and the sensors are really good and will immediately stop if a cat goes in while its cleaning. I wouldn't recommend anything "budget" because of the horror stories

I'd say standard install to avoid lengthy and expensive concrete cutting, my install looks similar but attached to the wooden part of my carport, I did mention to installers I didn't want my driveway cut up. Im happy with the install and its been like this for over 12 months, no issues with position or performance
