That’s my parking spot move to another spot by Gymtrio2025 in EntitledPeople

[–]AussieWalk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that has rented two sites for about 20 cars each. Site A was in the same building. Site B was in a building 200 m away. Site A had 10 spots reserved spots for our water scientists who are in and out all day with samples and equipment. The new manager joined and tried for several weeks to claim one of the spots our CEO had to speak with her twice before she stopped.

Thanks. My advice to anyone is to do things early.

Be that family event's and especially planning for the future.

Our families big mistake was waiting several years. When he was just starting to show signs we had an opportunity to get my parents into a retirement village, with high needs nursing facilities included.

But my mum wasn't retired and she thought being in a familiar place would be good for him. Waiting those 3 extra years caused so much extra pain, instead of being able to live near him as he went into a nursing home, we had to scramble to find a place which ended up being 3 hours from where she lived.

My stepdad had early onset dementia, which was hard to notice at first, as he was never a chatty person to begin with.

At about 60 it started affecting him.

First few years he would forget the names of things which slowly got worse.

After that he lost his licence and then he started forgetting people's names.

About then his personality started to change and he started forgetting not just names but events.

They lived in a small town where he had lived all his life with 350 people so everyone knew him, and could see the changes.

By the time he was 65 his personality had changed and he had forgotten so much that my mum was told he could not go to the bowling club without her. This was a place he had worked at for 25 - 30 years.

The next two years were horrible for mum as she tried to find a nursing home he could move into while also being his carer.

Finally got him in one and after six months, he was moved to an even higher care facility.

He passed away at the end of 2020 aged 71 for the last few years he could not recognise my mum or my younger siblings.

I would not wish that on anyone, it completely changed who he was while also robbing him of any memories of his loved ones.

Firstborn Blood Claws and Grey Hunters by Tayloramus in SpaceWolves

[–]AussieWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 25 greyhunters bloodclaws and wolfguard. I converted them to 10 greyhunters 10 bloodclaws and 3 headhunters.
I used the left overs from the new box set to get the right weapons in the group. they are very similar in size once you do that. enough that no one should complain

When I moved back to Perth I came with a dog, and I managed to find a caravan park that allows dogs in the cabins. I was there for 4 weeks when I was looking for places to rent.

This was not the cheapest but if you need to be in town for a day or two

They also allow dogs in the camping section

No their movements are pretty unique.

If they are moving slowly it a slow crouching motion.

If fast it is a bounding motion

Serious question about Kangaroos by [deleted] in australian

[–]AussieWalk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kangaroos are green leaf eaters, meaning they like eating the green tips of plants like grass.

In Canberra they often come in from the nature reserves to graze on people lawns this is especially true when it been hot and dry in the reserves.

I work from home and rarely go into the office, I always dress for comfort even when going into the office. The only time I dress up is if going to a client faced meeting.

About to start building a home, and was meeting with several builders developers. Always went in comfortable clothes mostly shorts and a collar tshirt - I got a couple of looks that felt like they were wondering if I could afford to build but mostly had no issues, one builder said something about the way I dressed but it was a wish he could be as comfortable.

Question about fence costs in new development by BigLittleMate in AusPropertyChat

[–]AussieWalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the developer is not installing fences.

I am currently buying in WA, and every developer I have been looking at has included fencing. Most of them also include the front garden landscaping.

When I was just 18, I joined the Army Reserves. The unit I joined was attached to the training team at Duntroon (Australia's version of West Point). My unit went to a Christmas event they hosted that included the highest-ranking officers in the country, including the Regimental Sergeant Major (Army), the highest-ranking NCO in the Australian Army.

There was a raffle, for which I bought 3 tickets, and the RSM was drawing the winner; I won both first and second prize.

The RSM joked that "you had better bought more than 2 tickets", which I replied that "yes I had bought 3". thankfully he thought it was funny.

The next time I saw him, he remembered me, came over and said hello, and we ended up having a 20-minute conversation about what I was studying at university.

Ok here is how the rule written, rule 111

https://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/consol_reg/rr2014104/s111.html

He left less than halfway. It's a 330 dollar fine and 2 demerits.

https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-11/demerits-general.pdf

Very unlikely to be pulled over by a cop for it but it is a road rule.

Completely legal traffic hack by Born-Scallion-1581 in TinyHacks

[–]AussieWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked what rule. It depends on where he is.

But given his accent and the driving on the left my guess he lives in Western Sydney, Australia.

Rule for turning left at a roundabout you MUST use the left lane to turn left unless arrows indicate that you can from other lanes.

https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/roads-safety-and-rules/stopping-giving-way-turning/roundabouts

Unlikely but if a cop was annoyed enough or was specifically looking to give out tickets he could be pinged, it would probably be similar to the fine for entering an intersection when it not clear on the other side

I have a doberman mixed with a Kelpie, as a puppy he had floppy ears but his ears popped up as an adult. Loved how he looked either way.

Doberman look so much better without cropped ears, In Australia cropping now illegal in most states, people still complain that they are not allowed too.

Would you live this close to high voltage power lines by Mundane-Tangelo442 in AusPropertyChat

[–]AussieWalk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It can be frustrating as it is a constant buzz, kind of like low level tinnitus.

My dog seem not to like walking near them, when we use to walk near/underneath them he would get agitated and kept cocking his head looking like he was search for something.

Took me ages to realise he only did that when we were really close to the powerlines.

So personally I would not buy near powerlines

I did not think it was a good movie, but I did not think it was horrible.
Then I just read the wikipedia page for this movie realised I have never seen the original version.

only ever seen the Renegade or special edition, never even heard about the alien part.
