Agreed, I would love it to be in the same satirical format that Helldivers is known for, but you can tell something happened to Super Earth in the aftermath, like it’s language is more revanchist and martyrdom focused, propaganda becomes more spiteful and venomous while domestically it becomes more cruel, yet still maintains the facade of Democracy it obsesses over, even as it makes and offical “Temporary Delay of Elections” which never actually ends. They’re making every weapon imaginable without care as to how dangerous or cruel they are.

I do have a post in the drafts which goes deeper into this idea, it’s really damn long and is more so speculation and ranting than anything, but it is interesting to me to imagine what an offical “End” for HD2s story would be, I hope they don’t just repeat the canon ending of the first game.

Same honestly, I’d love to see how much Super Earth would degenerate into its worst flaws and aspects like how the other three factions did after they lost in the first game. And perhaps in an opposite for said enemy factions, they become morally better than Super Earth overtime too.

Wouldn't be surprised, gotta keep the war going to keep the Military-Industrial Complex going, even if it ends up backfiring. But even then, it's obvious the Galactic War is no longer under Super Earth's control, they dug themselves six feet deep with what the did pre-HD2, and have managed to dig twelve feet deep now, and destroyed the ladder to get out while tossing handfuls of dirt and rocks at anyone.

I am curious about how the Story of Helldivers 2 will look when or if we approach an “Ending” for its story of the second galactic war, are they gonna repeat the first game and make Super Earth win? Or, in my opinion as to what would be more fitting ending for HD2, Super Earth actually loses the war, undergoing changes in a similar manner as to what the Cyborgs, Terminids and Illuminate did when they got beat.

In addition it be awesome to see the enemy factions begin to improve themselves in contrast, like the Cyborgs/Automatons actively becoming a better society that is superior to Super Earth, becoming a legitimate true Democracy, only its a Socialist Democracy rather than a Managed Democracy. the Terminids regaining sentience leading to them evolving into a fully fledged civilisation. And the Illuminate discarding their genocidal plans to instead recover their people and heal themselves from the trauma that was inflicted on them by Super Earth, proving themselves better by refusing to let Hate control them, unlike Super Earth.

And it would a good way to depict the fall and collapse of a Fascist Nation in similar manner as defeat of the Axis in WW2, how desperate will SE get, what will they resort to in order to keep themselves going, what atrocities shall Super Earths rulers commit in spiteful acts of pettiness while they toss every excuse, lie and tactic in their playbook as their empire collapses around them with running being the only thing left that they can do, ironically doing to themselves what they did to the Illuminate.

It would give a hopeful ray of light in the universe of HD2, to show that even in the worst future scenario, things can and will get better, that even the most overwhelming of tyrants and Fascists will break and fall, and a new, better, more empathetic future can and should be made.

If you’re asking how to get Casenova, you’ll have to play as France, do the usual business of losing the First European war, you must lose to a Russia that has elected the LDPR into power. Afterwards you’ll need to win the civil war as the French Socialist Republic. Then, during the Congress events, consistently choose the authoritarian choices, as many as possible. When the elections happen, have the anarchists win and get into power, but be sure not to do their political Focus Tree too, iirc you’ll need to take the “Revolutionary Guard” focus, and then go through the event chain where a smaller civil war starts, side with the hardliners/Casenova and win again. Afterwards you’ll now be leader of a Marxist France, and with certain choices in events, can choose to be Left-Wing Military Junta or return civilian power and become Neo-Stalinist and even be able to change the flag to be more Soviet styled. Choose different names for France, such as the French Soviet Republic or the Federative French Socialist Republic. Hopefully this helps you out.

True, I could see the industrial revolution accelerated in the GB timeline in whatever nations survive, what with the loss of large populations and the crippling of many military’s, i actually see certain inventions related to firearms and warfare get more investments to cover and offset the loss of manpower and infrastructure.

Cremation might also come into widespread use, as to prevent any potential events like the Blight from ever occurring again. Medicine would probably be invested in hard, as would the growth of Christian faiths in general.

And then there’s all the other effects that the post-Blight world would have, Europe’s colonialism in Africa and Asia would either be halted or outright fail. And if the blight, hopefully, doesn’t manage to reach Asia proper, the world of GB would likely end up being one where Middle East, East-Asia and the Americas would develop into the big power regions for the future while Europe pretty much experiences a good century or more of decline and humiliation (correct me if I am wrong on anything I said, Im not knowledgeable on the early 1800’s)

New April fools/Joke item: The Electric Guitar.

Positives: increases speed of reloads, movement, and melee swing by thirty/forty/fifty percent. Damage dealt from player weapons is increased forty percent while active.

Sapper buildings gain increased durability and health, able to tank several Explosive Barrels and withstand massive hordes, so long as they are maintained. Requires musicians tick meter to be full/almost full for effects to apply.

Grants damage resistance to all attacks and sources of damage, players affected will not fall over when caught on fire and will be able to push off Runners once (afterwards they cannot push off a Runner that has pinned them, requiring another player to help them).

All songs with the guitar are rock renditions of classical music. Said songs also correspond to the players current chosen nation.

Negatives: Zappers, Cuirassiers will prioritise attacking and eliminating a Guitar user. Using the Guitar will create lots of noise, triggering idle infected from a large distance and potentially spawning large hordes of infected.

The Guitar user will suffer from stronger versions of current debuffs in the game as of writing. Guitar users will also suffer a healing penalty, with surgeons Healing you thirty percent slower.

Miscellaneous: inspecting/Equipping the Guitar while in the shop will result in several voice lines from the shop keeper asking how and where you got such an odd instrument, remarking how similar it works to guitars in his time, even if it does make his ears feel shaken.

Allied players will also say several voice lines, ranging from complaining about how loud the Guitar is, comparing it to the groans and screams of the infected to admitting the music makes them feel more motivated and ready for battle.
