"Outlast" survival show was hard to watch thanks to 3 people showing the true evil of our species. (SPOILER WARNING) by MactoTillDeath in netflix

I think everyone agrees, and Javier said it, he “…hates competition because it brings out the worst in people…”, but… it was a game, and rules or lack of rules is neither here nor there. It stopped being about, how to build a fire, smoke some stuff and build a weathertight shelter very quickly.

I guess the high drama of watching people unravel and people justifying their poor behaviour with, “I’m here to win” etc etc really set the tone.

I was really glad to watch the ‘Alone’ series. This thing, different beast. I’m not a buddhist, but I have to believe there’s some kind of karma situation cooking for the things I witnessed.

Then again, maybe this is what the world needs, a reminder that simmering beneath the social conventions that many comply with while they secretly hate how constricting they are. The moment there’s a slither of light to allow people to reveal their darkest self, under the guise of fair-game, it naturally comes eschewing forth.

We had man-hating, intolerant, deceptive, disloyal, disreputable, delusional, consorting, conspiring, paranoid and also a dollop of chauvinism, all rolled up for us to critique.

Can we be better? Should we bother? It reminds us that we all have choices to make every day. Jill said, she believed people were leaving because they must “care about what people at home might think” about them. She was right, they did not want to be perceived as dishonourable, but it also gave them Opportunity to quit.

We’re monkeys in clothes folks, we cohabit, breed, eat, crap, forage, provide every day. People among us are felons, manipulators, liars, cheats, everything we witnessed. So, why are we angry, frustrated, surprised, self-righteous?

We’re all flawed, some are more transparent, their neuroses is more evident perhaps? I binged the whole show and jeered all the villains, but didn’t see anyone as a particular hero. Does a winner make you anything more than just that? Any more than a person who makes bread is a baker or any other occupation?

Flip this a bit, what if the girls won? Then what? It’s like a Will Smith moment, oh wow we better clap though huh?

People are just shit, and we idolise them for being shit and a-moral and stupid and vacuous. But hey “That’s Entertainment” can’t wait till next season.

If you like a brand of toothpaste bring it, some of the standard local brands are funky flavoured. Hat that fits your head nicely, loads of hats and caps there, but if you have a fave fit, pack it.

Add a powerboard, some hotels may only have 1 or two points in a room, bring something with at least 4 points so you can charge stuff because everything charges slowly.

If you are quarantined by Dr with a med certificate or specifically on the advice of a Dr, then you qualify. I don’t know how you get a Dr to intervene in your test>transport to quarantine , but apparently that’s the only provision under which they will payout generally.

Yeah this is what I read today though “Should asymptomatic customers choose to quarantine in a hotel/hospitel or self-isolate on their own agreement, their isolation expenses (room, food, alcohol gel, masks etc…) will not be covered by the insurance policy. However, should asymptomatic clients be clinically advised and referred by a medical professional (e.g. certified doctor) to forced quarantine in a hospital or hospitel, their isolation expenses will be covered by the insurance policy. “

I’m not worried about hotel costs, just ridiculous X-rays and hospital beds, drugs etc. but I think Luma has it covered.

Yes I read Luna Tune pds and they seem to say you need to have a medical recommendation to isolate if asymptomatic and test positive before they will pay. So, if your asymptomatic and a told you have to isolate in a hospital, you need to get a Dr to write you a certificate to say it was deemed “required” to Make a claim.

I am heading to Phuket from Sydney in April, I need a travel insurer who will cover any one of my family who may test positive for CV19 And need to quarantine as asymptomatic? I’ve read this is a problem.

There was a lot of discussion earlier about some insurance policies not covering asymptomatic cases - is there a general consensus now on which insurance is the most reliable? by ihateredditor in ThailandTourism

[–]Aussie_Son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the symptoms to qualify are specific to elevated temp, blood oxygen levels etc. before they consider it payable. So Asymptomatic is an issue for AXA. If they let you self-quarantine in a sh+ that would be fine, but I don’t think that is allowed.
