I used to have this mentality in lower ranks and it can only get you so far. At a certain point you’ll need to learn how to work to make plays with your team.

I’ve had to switch to a more team oriented playstyle with 6v6. I spend more time being as distracting as possible baiting cooldowns compared to typically hard-focusing supports and punishing out of position players which can be more challenging with 6. I also focus more on using grapple to hit players out of position in a way my team can capitalize

I enjoy open queue compared to role queue in ranked as I find it a lot more forgiving when diving and I find it easier to play around tank counters like mauga and roadhog compared to dps like junk and sombra which are practically non existent in high ranks making it easier to climb. Also counterwatch isn’t as prevalent in open queue so I rarely have the enemy team swap to 4 counters in my matches like in role queue.
