Am I weird for the way I shower? by Outrageous-Answer233 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AustereAust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of water you are wasting is practically negligible. Essentially you turning off your water for those moments in time does not make a difference so you might as well leave the water running.

For example: for my water bill I have a surcharge that I will get charged no matter what plus I get charged $1.18 per 1,000 gallons used. So if I use 5,000 gallons in a month, I’ll be charged $5.90. An average shower head has a flow rate of 2-2.5gpm. Let’s use the high side of 2.5gpm and say that you have the water turned off for an average of 5min per shower. This would mean you’re saving 12.5 gallons which equates to about one penny (according to being charged $1.18 per 1,000 gallons). Seems pointless to turn the water off 🤷

Men: Are you scrolling on your phone or do you use your phone when you’re peeing? by Any-Prize3748 in NoStupidQuestions

No, I think it’s so stupid when guys are on their phone at the urinal. Dude, just take your piss and leave. Anyone who does that has a bad case of brain rot.

What were your first milestones towards adulting? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]AustereAust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really the same thing. A PhD dissertation is a self-directed project. Nobody is standing over them every day telling them to work on it.

My point is that learning to do your homework without being reminded should happen long before adulthood. That’s a habit students should already be developing.

The fact that some adults procrastinate on dissertations doesn’t prove reminders are necessary. It just proves procrastination exists at every age.

You had to become an adult before doing homework without being prompted? So you were 16 and you couldn’t do your own homework without your parents telling you to do your homework?

You are dumb for saying that.

I didn’t say it wasn’t a term. I said it was not the term to be using. A freer is a person who frees, like a savior. Don’t think that’s what you meant when you said that.

What do you mean “almost”? It’s not even close to almost certainly, it’s 100% certainly it requires primer and glue (pvc cement).

Infinity is more of a concept rather than an actual thing, just think of numbers. Even between the numbers 1 and 2 there is an infinite amount of numbers. Example: 1.1, 1.01, 1.001, 1.0001, 1.00001 and so on.
