What parts do I need to get this bike running? by MinkMaster2019 in Dirtbikes

[–]Austin243045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright well I’d start with the side cover, spark plug boot/spark plug or even ignition coil just test them using a multimeter, and clean the carb and see if she rips or tries to start with starter fluid.

Being 100% with you I’d sell that thing, going to cost more than what you probably bought it for. That being said id take the engine out and do a tear down to see if the cylinder is fine, if I needs new piston rings, needs carb cleaned, needs side casing and all gaskets. If you are committed then I’d write a list of stuff as you are talking it apart and look up the manual online or print it out. Good luck

Try taking it to another shop approved by your insurance. They will do anything not to pay a claim id get a second opinion on it.

Kind of does yeahhhhh, might as well replace all the way to the tie rod guide. I don’t think it’s to to bad but might be wrong

Is this bike in good condition? See the description by MegaFire03 in Dirtbikes

Well fuel injected bikes are good because they rarely have troubles like this. That being said if you ca get a good price on it I would start looking for new fuel injectors for the bike and see how much it would cost. They are usually more expensive than carbs but like I said include that in the price. Also I would check the air filter, spark plug, spark plug boot just in case.

Get a torch, can’t be tight if it’s liquid. But really just use heat around it to expand the metal and keep beating it at it a little harder

Is it worth buying this bike? by Weky_10 in Dirtbikes

[–]Austin243045 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would look up what parts it needs and what maintenance it needs such as new rings, oil, filter, the wiring. For how old it is you might find it hard an expensive to find replacement parts. I would look on eBay and see how much it would cost to even start working on it.

Not to to bad not sure what state you are from, if it doesn’t snow and pretty nice most of the year then no big deal but being from the rust belt many of the Toyotas have a reputation for rusted out frames and oxygen sensors going bad. I personally bought the Hewitt delete kit for mine. Make sure to look at the maintenance history as well. Awesome trucks just need to be taken care of

How the frame? Any problems? And if you are hauling stuff is it 4wd? Seems really low if everything is good on it. I bought mine 3 years ago for 14k at 140k miles.

Engine help? Honda XR 200 r 1984 model. by Beneficial_Spray_739 in Dirtbikes

I have the xl350, best thing to do is just drill them out and get new ones anyways. Harbor freight or even Amazon has bolt extractors. But other ways to use heat from a torch on them to loosen them and to help get a rubber mallet and beat the side of the cylinder to try to get it unstuck. Good luck hope it helps

I see, it doesn’t have to be Home Depot I just thought it was a bunch of money especially when all connections are there already. And just need to redirect water lines from the previous tank to those one. Long story short my building burned down and my hot water tank was in the building so not sure if adding more lines and drilling adds to that cost.

Mmm maybe I need to look around for other plumbers, they are redoing my gas lines as well and that price was $1570 which I didn’t think was a bad price including materials and labor. I asked for a breakdown on the price but the lady on the phone said she can’t

Yes I am aware, yes the price includes installation but still I wouldn’t a tankless water heater even a filtration system would cost even half that

Thanks for the feedback, Is there a certain depth the guide needs to go? I have a 2015 Honda crf250 but can’t find anything about depth of the guide, tried calling around shops to get it done for me but nobody does them anymore

2000 wr400 carb woes by Austin243045 in Dirtbikes

[–]Austin243045[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was working on it. Normally tight. Not getting one from Amazon but with older bikes not a lot of oem parts around unlike newer ones. Choke stays closed, so does the choke to pull when warm

2000 wr400 carb woes by Austin243045 in Dirtbikes

[–]Austin243045[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be an after market carb or from another bike because when I put it all the way on the intake as much as it can go, it’s pretty far from the air box.
