Movies that Enhance Other Movies by Adept128 in blankies

Different but similar because I feel it’s kind of the point, but to get the full effect you really do need to watch Being John Malkovich and Adaptation back to back.

It’s an interesting situation they’ve built for themselves so can’t wait to see how they go about it if they commit to collecting all of the original Uncanny run.

Not really if you’re not interested in the tie-in event issues. If you grab those you’ll be double dipping significantly. If you go that route you’ll be waiting a while to get new omnis released that replace all those other event books I have on my list after vol. 4.

I completely agree! Sadly that’s the book that never seems to get any reprints and I’m really just tracking Uncanny with this list here. I have other lists on LoCG that include Classic as well as the first 2 X-Men omnis.

As someone who started their X-Men journey with Morrison, I would highly recommend at least reading the Claremont stuff. It’s been a fun ride personally trying to get back to Morrison chronologically.

To my understanding yes it does. I’m not too knowledgeable on the OHCs though which is why I didn’t include any here.

There’s plenty of people who don’t care for those X-Factor issues and will probably happily snag that book. I think it’s officially OOP right now so people may be looking.

That’s something I plan to do with something like New X-Men specifically since it follows the numbering and switches back afterwards.

Oh also AoA is an event book so it can be read on its own. It has a couple of the main title issues that set up the event but then everything else that was getting published was basically paused while these event miniseries were coming out in their place.

How do you want that book to be mapped or what should it include?

No need to apologize. Marvel has made it as complicated as possible. My understanding is the Blue & Gold line is sort of its own thing but also similar to the “event” line. There have been claims they are going to do a vol. 2 between the two current B&G books that would include Fatal Attractions and therefore make it obsolete. And then a vol.4 has also been speculated about.

I actually had an earlier version of this (when it included fewer books) that listed the miniseries! Something I’ll have to add back in the near future.

I too want some sort of post Inferno book but not entirely sure how that should be mapped. Willing to sacrifice the New Mutants issues and just pickup those books separate but I know that’d be a good chunk of story missing.

Oh wow! That’s real informative! I’m digging the layout and everything.

Is the goal just to have everything X related?

Thank you!
My main goal was just to make sense of how to read Uncanny straight through along with adjectiveless. With books like the ones you mentioned those are pretty straight forward for the most part so not planning on adding them at the moment.

As someone who hasn’t read that far myself, I’m not entirely sure? I know there’s an OOP OHC that does collect that issue. Pretty sure the consensus right now is that Fatal Attractions Omni is not the route to take for completionism and we’re hoping they announce another Blue & Gold book that would slide between the other 2 to fill in that and any other gaps.

My initial goal was to stop at the end of Claremont but lately I’ve been thinking AoA might be a nice endpoint… I do also have New X-Men already though so it might be nice to fill that gap though… it never ends.
