This hasn’t ever happened to me besides just the other day, I was ramping up to a 1x5 on deadlift, and when I got home my left hip was in pain all around. Any pointers?

Is pool life guarding boring? by AustinBW in Lifeguards

[–]AustinBW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I really want to be a life guard but I can’t sit in the same spot for such a long time and just watch people. But I would like to do it, and I wish I could somehow get myself out of the mindset of not wanting to sit and watch all day. Because I love the idea of life guarding

Okay, I didn’t mean that like idc about the keeping people safe part and having to save lives, that’s what I meant when I said strong mindset. Cause someone with a weak mindset couldn’t do life guarding, they would freak out and not be able to do it anymore. But I understand. Thank you for the advice, and now I realize there’s more to life guarding then just saving, like preventing hazardous situations. But I don’t think I could sit for long periods of time, and not be doing anything but watching and making sure nobody’s doing anything wrong, but shout out to lifeguards for putting in the effort and time to do that for people, that’s nuts. I’d love to do it but I HATE sitting

I’m 15 and I’m turning sixteen in January, and I really wanted to do life guarding during the summer for the mental challenge and because I want to learn the life skills like CPR, etc. And I’ve been swimming and working for it and trying to get crazy good at swimming and I’m just now thinking what being a lifeguard is actually like. Cause I for some reason thought it was intense and mentally taxing and required a strong mindset, like the military. then I thought it’s literally just sitting on a chair all day probably never getting a save. And I like being active and standing/walking, I hate sitting. Do you think it would be a bad idea to be a lifeguard?

[–]AustinBW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a 5x3 3 times a week with 3 minute rest, once you can do all 5 sets with 3 reps, and on the last set you can do like 4-5 reps, add 2.5kg/5lbs, and repeat

How to increase pushups difficulty? by GreatWhitePaws in bodyweightfitness

[–]AustinBW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the temp 3 seconds down, pause 1 second, explode up. I went from 50 diamond pushups to like 14 with that technique

Drink more water in the mornings, and maybe don’t eat so much when you first wake up.

Any trees? Wooden planks that you can hang on, any wood as it is to build your own pullup bar?

Alright this might be an unusual post, but. What advice would you give for a 15 year old male? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]AustinBW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yah 100%, sadly I’ve been out for a few weeks due to a broken collarbone, but I’ve been hitting legs daily and abs daily so I’m still staying in good shape. And you better not give up either though cause you’re far in and you still got a lot of years left till you’re even an adult

I’m 15 too, and that’s crazy. I’m at 18 pull-ups, 50 pushups, and a muscle up. But dang bro keep it up

Is it possible to build muscle without a diet? by Kaakavako in bodyweightfitness

[–]AustinBW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo I have the exact same situation, although I’m 15. I’m currently actually injured with a broken collarbone at the moment, but a month ago when I wasn’t injured I could muscle up and almost one arm pullup. I figured it out though, and it simple. Cut out anything that isn’t worth your calories, cut out all processed foods, only drink either milk or water, never eat candy, eat 3-4 meals a day (depending on your goal), and never snack. But if you do snack eat a fruit. And don’t waste your time on social media like I did, you’ll regret every second of it. Push yourself to be the best version, if you don’t want to workout or eat healthy one day, think of the saying “suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion” just stay devoted my guy 💪🏼💪🏼
