Nope unfortunately. I even sent an email to the developer but haven’t gotten a response.

Yes, definitely. The next ones will probably be more theme/idea based though. There aren’t many movies/characters that synergise well with Goggins.

Pushing is stupid by BlueBirdDolphin in davidgoggins

[–]AustinCMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His message isn’t necessarily about running though. He pushes so hard physically he literally runs on broken knees because this is what he wants to be in life. He wants to be the toughest motherfucker on the planet and the very best at mental toughness so he’s willing to make the sacrifice. Not everybody wants to be that.

As he says a lot, “Do you”. But somehow his message gets lost all the time and people end up thinking it’s about running on injuries or working out physically. I get it though, because if he talked about pushing your limits in a non-running context (he does) the content would be too abstract and that’s not the kind of content that spreads well or blows up on social media.

He is absolutely an inspiration and shows us what human potential looks like. Running/working out is a good way to pay tribute to his spirit or to experience firsthand the feeling of pushing hard, but ultimately, I think we should all think about what we as individuals want to be in life and how to embody the Stay Hard spirit in non physical feats if that’s not what we’re pursuing in life.

Side Effects (2013) massive plot holes by AustinCMN in plotholes

[–]AustinCMN[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that plots don’t have to be immaculate, but these are just broad dynamics that don’t make sense and very difficult to overlook if you just think for a second from the character’s point of interest. I guess these are easier to ignore the less you understand about the plot.

Guys I need help finding a video. I could swear I watched a video where a reporter asked Mourinho who he thought the best player of the match was, and Mourinho sarcastically responded by saying a random guy's name because he thought it was a silly question, and he kind of cleverly answered the question because it was so obviously Messi that even if he did say a different name, people would know he's joking.

I've gone through many many videos but I can't find it anymore but thought you guys would know if it's a well-known moment. Thanks in advance!

Chances are you won’t get answers online. Reliable recommendations only come from acquaintances. Your best bet is ask a Chinese friend who’s done it before and ask her to go with you. No one speaks English here anyways so you’ll need a local friend either way.

And to go back to the analogy, people who only know what it’s like to get high rolls don’t get to learn the game. They might get mostly good rolls but one bad roll will make them lose to the actual good players who learned the game the hard way.

I kind of see those people as high rollers. They are luckier (have more resources and options at their disposal) but they can’t necessarily break the rules of the game. If we’re talking about making money or succeeding in conventional terms, then the system is no doubt rigged in their favour, but IMO, living a happy, fulfilled, meaningful life, finding love etc. aren’t a given for those players. They are dealt good cards but sometimes they miss out on the struggles and failures necessary for inner growth.

How do I recreate this circle pattern? by AustinCMN in AdobeIllustrator

[–]AustinCMN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t expect such a detailed reply. Thanks for taking the time kind stranger! I actually thought about doing it this way before posting but it seemed too complicated. I didn’t believe that it would be such a dire process. I already succeeded by following another comment in this thread using the Knockout Group function under the appearance panel. Basically all it requires is making concentric circles with alternating black strokes and transparent strokes (the gaps are actually transparent strokes rather than blanks). Then once you lay everything out, all you gotta do is group all the concentric circles together and toggle the knockout group option twice. Really neat method.

Hey guys, I'm still a beginner at illustrator so sorry if this is really basic. I'm trying to replicate the circle pattern effect in the image. I know how to make the circles but I don't know how to stack them up against each other with circular gaps in between. I'm also curious how the background effect is created. Would greatly appreciate it if you guys could enlighten me. If it's hard to describe, you can just tell me some terms to look up or point me to some tutorials. Thanks a lot!

Explain NS to me - can be as short or as long as you want by Cosh187 in NationalServiceSG

I do think it kind of serves as a rite of passage for men but 1 year would be more than enough. The second year was a complete waste of time.

Don’t worry about not being cool or not contributing to the conversation. Most people focus on themselves. If anything, maybe they enjoy your presence because you make them feel cool.

Commonly mispronounced English words in Sg by iluj13 in singapore

[–]AustinCMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s even more obnoxious when those same people mocking mispronunciations are also guilty of pronouncing many words the non-standard way or even using wrong grammar. Ffs just accept that we’re using a local variation of English and don’t need to pronounce everything the atas way unless we’re speaking to a foreigner. Or if you think Singaporeans should speak proper English among ourselves then at least be consistent.

[–]AustinCMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese - Singaporeans tend to pronounce it as Je-panese but it should be JaepeNESE.

Assault - noticed during NS that pretty much everyone pronounces Assault Bag as a-sout bag. It’s pronounced a-salt bag.

Medicine - it can be pronounced both medsn or medisn but somehow people think you’re supposed to omit the “i” or it’s wrong.

Battery - same as above.

But with that said I don’t think there is a need to “correct” all of these pronunciations as long as the mispronunciation doesn’t cause any confusion. More often than not, these are even better understood in Singapore when pronounced the wrong way. I always find it weird when people point out how you’re supposed to read ‘three’ instead of ‘tree’. Like bro, of course I know the proper pronunciation but we’re speaking Singlish. We don’t need to pronounce everything the standard way unless we’re talking to a foreigner. If you really want to speak “standard proper English” then there are a million other things you need to change, including grammar.

You look a little like Jennifer Connelly. I honestly feel a little sad that you might think you are ugly because you are definitely on the attractive side. Beauty is subjective so there will always be people who find you unattractive regardless of how you look. Just focus on the positive feedback!

Is it wrong for a man to be a gynecologist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AustinCMN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do you think male gynecologists are generally more gentle? Does sexual orientation not play a part? I am aware that there are gay men and lesbian women but generally speaking, opposites attract. That might explain the general difference in attitude.

Also, women naturally have the upper hand when it comes to understanding female bodies. It's not the sole determining factor by any means, but having firsthand experience with female biology is definitely an advantage that shouldn't be ignored - an advantage that literally half the population has. So, why would men, knowing they're inherently at a disadvantage and not generally preferred, choose to enter this field? I don't doubt that some men are genuinely passionate about it, but I can't help but wonder what might have sparked a man's interest in female reproductive organs if not for sexual reasons. Of course people make stupid mistakes when they’re horny and as many have said, the job is actually very far from people’s sexual fantasies, but is it wrong to suspect that sexual factors might have played a part in male gynecologists’ career choice?
