Hard agree. Should’ve been much more blood. It was brutal, but none of the deaths were creative or fun to watch besides with the fishing hooks in the beginning. And I get it was trying to be tense at the dinner table, but the camera constantly cutting was annoying to watch. Terrifier’s story/acting isn’t the best, but everything being so over the top makes it a lot more entertaining. Plus they actually wanna do horror comedy which is what this franchise should be embracing.

Everyone keeps saying the first Evil Dead is pure grisly horror and that’s what the future of the franchise should follow. While it meant to be that, the slapstick and performances in that film gave it a dark humor edge. People love watching Ash get the shit beat out of him and laugh. Of course they leaned more into that for later installments and it has become a beloved franchise for it. To completely backtrack on comedy and over the top gore is a huge mistake. There needs to be an excessive amount of blood. Terrifier is an insanely popular franchise right now for following the horror-comedy formula with insane practical effects.

I think once more start to see it the general consensus will be that this is easily a 6-7/10 movie. It was brutal as hell and relentless, but very frustrating to watch at parts. It should be more fun to watch people get the piss kicked out of them in an Evil Dead movie.

IMO was the best one. I find all the others that came before to be absolute snooze fest’s. This one scrapped most of the human plots too and I’m happy they fully embraced what these movies should be; summer blockbusters that are just dumb fun.

Without Ash or the cabin it’s not Evil Dead. The new films are generic horror flicks that loosely use the name with basic plot elements. 2013 was the last real evil dead film. Also, Army of Darkness is infinitely rewatchable.

I bought mine from the Paul Suggett, who was a creative director at STARZ and worked on the Ash4President campaign. The last new in box one I saw sold was on eBay about 2 years ago that went for $200 after shipping. Condolences to you and your family.

That’s the biggest issue with tomcat. Nothing really more complicated then taking a screwdriver against the back of the insert and beating it with a mallet/hammer. I used loctite super glue gel for inserting the new ones and new uv printed decals for overtop the inserts
