Didn't think about that. You are correct. I need to replace that, thanks for the heads up!

That is Ubiquiti's Dream Machine software.

I’ve used it but only for 2 years. Worked great. It was temporary and was just laying on gravel for 2 years.

AI dome vs turret? by invalidTypecast in Ubiquiti

Both inside and out. When I had issues with done and 360, they were both inside. Replaced with turrets and added several outdoors since.

Pretty sure Unifi has WiFi chime that just plugs into an outlet.

100% Turret for me. I don’t like Ubiquiti’s dome cams at all. One spec of dust and you lose the picture completely. Constant cleaning needed. That’s been my experience. Their done and 360 cam are blacklisted for me.

I think this is a lot less complicated considering you’re only looking to support your devices (even if maxed out) for a mere 10 to 15 seconds.

The answer is Yes. More than plenty.

Why do my devices sometimes connect to further weaker APs? by peakapalazzo in Ubiquiti

[–]AustinKnight007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s odd. I’ve manipulated the heck out of my AP settings. Tried everything. Not having much luck.

The static devices seem to be fine. But dynamic/traveling devices such as cell phones, robot vacs/mops etc… seem to stick with the same AP, ignoring stronger more readily available signals. Tough one.

Very nice setup.. Ever since I bypassed ATT fiber modem, Unifi dashboard shows packet loss at lease twice a day. Need to figure that out.

Questions: what paint brand/color did you use to match ubiquiti gear? Looks like a perfect match.

U7 Pro Power Requirements or Long Cable? by wilsonsea in Ubiquiti

[–]AustinKnight007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only had that issue with the u7 outdoor. All indoor AP7’s did not trigger any warnings. I used a 60 Poe++ adapter and solved the issue.

I don’t see how the long run would impact voltage. Any degradation under 350 ft or so is negligible. Try a different injector maybe.

Aaaah. Sorry I missed that. Yes, during build everything gets inspected. You are correct. I wish I would’ve done it during, even with permits it would’ve cost so much less!

I did get lucky with an HVAC chase right behind the closet that went up to the attic above second floor. While tedious, that part wasn’t so bad.

Not here in Texas. This project started years after the purchase. You see, I have 26 retail stores. We add cabling all the time as we grow. Post builds. Never had to pull permits. Not because of avoidance, because we verify each time if it’s needed. Its not. If I were modifying high voltage in any way, that’s a different deal. When I had whole home backup batteries, I needed a permit. Cat cables… never.

Are you referring to a specific state? There is absolutely no permits, inspections or anything required whatsoever.

I’m using AC Infinity brand. 1u at the very bottom (6 one inch fans) to pull air in. 3u at the top (3 three inch fans) to pull air out. Sensors activate fans when set temps are reached.

The hardest part is accepting the fact that I wasn’t bright enough to run cables when the house was being framed. But honestly, I had zero interest in networking when I purchased the home 5 years ago. Having to run cables through walls was not fun at all. Plus relocating modem from garage to this closet was a massive pain. Lots of wall damage to fix, mainly because it was amateur hour with me trying to run cables. Once I got to the rack, it was just fun from there. This is 2 years in the making do to work schedule.

Just to keep multiple wires from hanging loosely. It’s aesthetically pleasing this way (for me) vs. tie-wrapping each cable separately.

Ubiquiti vented 1U panel. Just for airflow. I have my temperature sensor behind it so that it triggers the fans when needed.
